Montauk Monster 1 Attachment(s) WARNING- the picture is kind of icky. Well as a follow up to my mutant carrots, what do y'all think about the Montauk Moster? Creepy huh? Montauk Monster: Property of the USDA? - Associated Content An unknown creature that washed up on the beach in Montauk, New York, has been dubbed the "Montauk Monster" and captivated the American imagination. Speculation about the identity of the Montauk Monster is rampant. Many skeptical Americans believe that the Montauk Monster is a publicity stunt. The most conspiracy-minded are sure the Montauk monster is detritus from a sinister government operation. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)-operated Plum Island animal testing facility is nearby, fueling the belief that the USDA is responsible; some would see the Montauk Monster as a hideous USDA experiment gone wrong while others might consider it a not -so-unexpected byproduct of animal experimentation. The simplest explanation might be that the Montauk Monster is a natural mutation of some sort of ordinary Earth animal, but which one? Is the Montauk Monster a sea turtle without a shell? A skinned pig? The descriptions and guesses as to the Montauk Monster's identity are so variant as to be mindboggling. See a photo of the Montauk Monster here. |
It does look like a turtle without a shell. I love turtles, so that is kind of a sad thing. Whatever it is...it's creepy! |
That is not too far from my house! When I was out on the main road you could see the media EVERYWHERE! They are saying that they think its a hoax! If its not a hoax then they said possibly something from Plum Island where they do testing on animals might of washed up but they are doubting it! Will we ever know? |
Oh Cheesus! It looks like a burnt, beaked guinea pig. Who supposedly found it? |
wow it does look like a turtle to me.. ewww |
They just showed this on our news. I think its a hoax. Pretty weird looking though huh |
if it isn't a hoax, i don't think its a turtle. it has teeth, not a beak. if you zoom in on it you can clearly see the bottom row of teeth. there is a k-9 tooth where the bottom "beak" is. Plus you can see the top row of molars as well. the upper k-9 is hard to make out. |
Yes i saw that on this forum i belong to....some ppl said it looks like a dog although i don't see the resemblence and some ppl think it's a raccoon. Either way it looks weird! |
And to add to all that ....even more of a question: [/To complicate matters, no one seems to know exactly where the mysterious beastie is now. It's no longer at the beach where it was supposedly found; then again, the sand it's resting on in the photo could be anywhere in the world. "They say an old guy came and carted it away," Navitski told New York magazine. "He said, 'I'm going to mount it on my wall.'":eek: (Source: Fox News) |
A hoax, does that mean it's rubber? |

Found this...looks possible. Maybe someone skinned it and tossed it in the water? http://www.animachina.com/images/wha...ter_racoon.jpg It might have been 'something' at one point in time, but looks likes something that has just been decomposing. My question is, who took the picture? How did it just 'disappear' without a trace, no accountability for it, but still there's a picture? And if it were a gov't experiment, I seriously doubt they'd just toss it in the water... |
it's either a hoax or an experiment...cause who takes just ONE pic and then it just disappears?? That's odd.. |
I have camped on Montauk beach - not anymore!! :) Seriously though, it's strange looking. I'm going with shell-less turtle. |
