Please Remind Loved Ones Not To Drink & Drive... Three years ago today two of my friends died as a result of drink driving. This morning I received this email from one of the man's sister. I just wanted to share with you all as reminder to watch over and remind your families and love ones to be safe. ... Dear Friends Today is three years since our Fran was taken from us. Words cannot express how much my heart has ached everyday since. I miss his cheeky charm and the way he could make light of any situation, always bringing me up when I was at my lowest. Today I know he's up there and he is looking down on me and I know in my mind he will be making some kind of comment about me not having to complain about needing to get in the bathroom anymore or that I should be grateful no one uses the last of the milk in the morning, that's just the person he was, always an upside to everything. There are 100 things I wanted to write this in this message to you all but now I've started typing the words fail me. I've no need to tell you all what a wonderful, kind, caring, giving person he was. He touched the hearts of many people and the attendance of his funeral showed just what a well thought of person he was. My parents and I thank the people that lit the candles last night, the many flowers that have been laid there already this week and the people who attended the match on Sunday. Our hearts also go out to Alex's family. We have no bad words to say about Alex or that night and we don't blame him at all. We would just give anything to have them both back with us. Precious Lives Did you think it couldn't happen? Did you think it wasn't real? You thought of only fun and games as you got behind the wheel. You knew it was stupid, you didn't stop to think. You got into the car that night; you'd had too much to drink. You didn't even see the tree; you were going much too fast. You drew in a sharp breath, a breath that was your last. Three precious lives were lost that night. You weren't the first to die. We think about you lovingly as each day passes by. This poem is a warning to each and every one. The results of drunken driving can never be undone. Anonymous ... I ask YT members to send your thoughts and prayer to the families of Fran and Alex on this day. |

Gypsy & Me....I'm very sorry about the loss of your friends. Whether it's from driving and drinking - or something else....it's so hard to deal with a death of someone close to you. and it's very true - it never leaves you :( This is such a good post to those especially with teens. Life can change in one split second and the people left behind will always have an empty place in their hearts from their loss. |
My thoughts and prayers are with Fran's family and friends on this day. I am sorry for your loss. And Please, Everyone, Please dont drink and drive. |
Wow. That is soo sad! Im so sorry for your loss, although it was 3 years ago im sure its still very painful. Thank you for the poem and the reminder. |
How tragic. It is such a problem here in the states. It seems that there is nothing to do for our young people so they hang out in bars. I will pass this on to my 22 and 37 year old kids. |
:( Iam so very sorry, I lost a very dear friend to drinking and driving, I know the pain you are in, My thoughts are with you , iam sorry :( |
I'm so very sorry for your loss (((hugs))) |
I am very sorry for your sadness. I am totally on board with the drinking and driving thing. I have two little boys and it would be a shame if their innocent lives were taken because someone's judgement was impaired. Peace and Love, |
