Time for a phone Upgrade! Do I pick, Voyager, Dare, or Glyde???? Its that time.... "new every Two"! With Verizon :) I'm leaning towards the Voyager. Does anyone have any advice on any of the 3 phones I listed? I like the bigger typing space on the Voyager. Would love to hear your reviews! :) |
I have NO idea, but will soon be upgrading - so I'll be interested to see what folks have to say. :) |

Well i thought I had it narrowed to the Voyager but I just went to the Verizon store again and that Glyde is kinda cool too! Can't wait to hear what everyone things who own these! |
Hello! I have never posted to you before but wanted to toss this out to you. I have Verizon and upgraded phones around Chirstmas for myself and kids. I can give you a review for the Voyager, EnV and also the EnV2 if it helps. Here goes: The Voyager uses a huge amount of battery. My daughter has one vand we just replaced the battery to try and give it a longer life. She would charge it overnight and she would be on 2 bars almost immediatley. The sales girl at the store said they just use a lot of battery power. If you use it for pictures or music, they suggest to download to a card since that is what uses all the power. She carrier her charger with her at all times. The touch screen is a little hard to use. EnV- we have three nothing but problem with them. Mine has been replaced 2 times, my older son once and my middle son was given the new EnV2 over the weekend because his has been replaced 4 times. I don't believe they make this phone any longer. The voyager and enV use the same charger and we have had multiple problems with the connection into the phone breaking. Very frustrating! EnV2 seems like a nice phone but he has only had it for a few days. Has a different type of charger than the other two. I know you didn't ask about this phone but just thought I would throw it out there since it is one of their newest models. Nice keyboard, easy to text with. Glyde- the keys are small and hard to use. *just had that input from my daughter's friend who happens to be sleeping over and has one:) Hope this was helpful. |
Hi! :) Well you should post more to me because you are VERY helpful! Thank you so much!!!!!!!! :p:p:p I do like the keys better on the Voyager than the glyde. The EnV's I don't like the outside small screen at all. I LOVE touch screens however. Quote:

Thanks! :D If you really like to text and don't like the enV, I would say don't go for the Dare. When they told my son he could replace his enV it was a choice between the Dare and the Env2 and he chose the EnV2 with the help of the sales girl @ the store. She said that she had the Dare and that it is hard to text with the touch screen. If it were me I think I might wait another month or so if your phone is still OK because they will be coming out with more new phones. The Voyager was about $250 when I upgraded for my daughter and now it's down to about $150 I think. I'll bet they will be coming out with a new model just like they did with the enV. My husband still has not upgraded his and they keep sending better and better incentive offers to get him to upgrade his. Just a thought..... |
Myself along with CollegeCutieUSF have the LG Dare. It's the greatest phone Verizon has, IMO. We had the family share plan but upgraded to the Nation Wide Premium plan and got free navigation (which my bf nicknamed Claire). It's a good all around phone! I'm very pleased with it and not many phones do it for me. :D Selling points about the Dare for me: 1. Senses finger nail touches (the iPhone doesn't) and vibrates when you touch it. 2. Has a great battery life 3. Small and compact 4. Great camera for being in a phone 5. You can hear well 6. Texting is easy (I live for it) If you use your upgrade early the Dare will be $99.99. If you have any specific questions about it let me know. |
Thanks for the great info!!!! I've heard the txting was hard on this due to the touch screen??? (several times I read that) You don't have any issues? I like how the keys are spread out on the voyager. My "actual" 2 yr is Dec...but they are offering me a special early upgrade...I just looked and it said 199 for the dare  How do I get the $99???? Quote:

Which phone The Dare is the best if you can live without a mechanical keyboard. It is strict ly touch. I don't think any you mention have Windows. For that you need the 6800, 6900 or 8800 made by HTC. One of the Palm devices may work out well. |

If you want to get the $99 one, call in to buy it rather than getting it online and ask them for the price with the early upgrade. Good luck and let us know which you pick! |
I have the Voyager and i realy like it, i have not had any Battery problems at all, i charge it every few days. I bought a memory card for it. I am not very good reading instructions either, so i realy dont know all it can do ! Just bought the new Jawbone Bluetooth headset that i am playing around with at the moment, not cheap though, but sound Quality seems to be good. Dont know anything about the Dare, but if you text alot the Voyager has a awsome keyboard ! :) |
Cancel Verizon, go to AT&T, and get an iPhone :) |
we have verizon.. but my boyfriend and i both have the blackberry! i love it! no problems with it AT all!! they have the blackberry curve as well. when we were getting our phones last year.. the voyager had just come out and we were looking at all the different options we had.. i didnt hear many good reviews on the voyager, at all.. but im no expert! ;) my mom has a cool phone.. can't remember the name of it- i'll try and find out. ;) but out of those 3 choices you gave.. i would say the Dare or the Glyde. the venus looks kinda cool too? havent seen or heard much about any of them though-sorry! again, love my "crackberry"! haha :p |
