I am almost 32, have a job, own my own townhouse, car and am finishing my degree and my mom STILL worries about me and she lives 2,500 miles away! :) I tell her not to, but she says that her kids are her kids for life! (we are 31, 30 & 27!!!) hehe

Glad he has the money now, you can rest a little easier. Let us know when you hear from him. Souns like he had a great experience and one that will have some interesting twists

Praying your son get's home safe and sound. He sounds like a very
mature grounded young man so I'm sure he will be ok.
Unfortunately, we as parents ,never stop worring. I went threw a similar
experience with my youngest daughter who traveled threw Spain with a friend after graduating. If I lived threw that I'll live threw anything. LOL
I know what your going threw and it will be fine in the end, when he's finally home. Hope he's home soon.

I'm so glad he now has the money & I pray he has a safe trip home! Sorry, sweetie......we're in this for LIFE!! My daughter's 25.......she just told me the other day: Mom, u gotta stop calling & checking on me so often! lol She now lives in another town, but she calls me alot too....hehe;) When she was in college, she did study abroad and went to Europe, nothing like you're son doing this on his own. But she did travel alone to Paris & stayed in a hostel. You feel so helpless....they are so far away. Like you....I waited for the emails!! I know you can't wait to have him home.....he'll have lots of stories to tell!! Hugs from one Mom to another!:ghug:

Hope everything works out FAST, I know it must be hard. And, no we never quit worrying about them. Then comes the grandkids to worry about. Then the great great grandkids. Then we worry about their relationships and relationships with their parents and on, and on and on. We are just mothers, what can I say. At least they know we love them and care. Everything will be fine, you'll see.

I am with you! My son is 22 years old-just graduated & now planning on moving out on his own! I worry too! Hugs to you-Kay;)

I have 4 grown kids and I try not to worry ..... But I do !!! I do a quick run through their life everyday mentally and it's usually good (however, I still have a 21 yr old daredevil and a 23 yr old marine ) So, I need to stay calm....No news is good news !! Sometimes !!!

Now, my 78 yr mom just got married to her 83 yr old husband...Both are very active and are travelling in an RV , alone, to Washington state from Arizona....
You ask if the worrying ever stops !!!!!!!!!!!! :eek::eek:

Your son is at that age where he is on the brink of being all grown up and thinking that he can conquer the world, but he is still a "baby" who NEEDS mommy and daddy. I really don't have a complete update yet...all I know is he picked up the money from Western Union, so he does have some money to pay British Airways to change his flight and to eat. I guess I won't hear from him until he gets into New York and I think the earliest that would be is maybe this evening, but really I'm not totally sure about that. I think since he is changing his scheduled return, he will be flying standby, but again I don't know anything for sure, just that he has money and he can eat:) As soon as I know anything, I'll update again.
Thanks so much everyone, I really, really do appreciate the responses, it's hard sitting here, not knowing everything I want to know, it's great to think there are people out there that are thinking of him too!

Glad all is under control. My sons are 46 and 40 and they still get worried about on a regular basis. It comes with being a mom!

He has had an interesting trip and we were thrilled he was getting to do this, although it's hard for him to be off and so far away, I wait every day for that email, so I know he is okay. I have a 23 year old, almost 22 yr old and 16 yr old (all boys) - I can relate:rolleyes:. I have a feeling that once they get their lives in order (married, settled, secure, etc) you start worrying about the grandkids:D.

Sounds like he never made it back to pick up his credit card. Maybe you can request the hotel send it to the bank directly and/or have the credit card call and request it. Probably easiest would be to have it cancelled asap it seems.

Not to throw a twist in here as I'm sure you know you've talked directly to your son but I just read this scam where these people call in the middle of the night. i.e. Grandma received a call in the middle of the night with someone saying grandma this is your grandson/granddaughter, no name, hoping that they know they have a grandchild but ... anyway they say grandma this is your so n so, I'm in trouble and need some money, can you wire it to me? and wa la, granny has sent some unknown person some fundage.

I sincerely believe there is a special place in Hell for people that would do things like this!!

Good news, my husband called British Airways and found someone who would confirm for him that my son IS on a flight and will be in NY tonight. They usually won't give out this info, not sure what persuasion he used, but finally I know for a fact that Brandt is on his way home :woof::woof: I should have him back here in Texas sometime tomorrow:thumbup: Again, thanks to each and everyone of you who were thinking of us!!
