My baby is getting married in 6 days......

I can hardly believe it..........and yet I can.
Kristen has always been very independant and was so sure of herself & what she wanted, she was able to move from the only city she's ever known, all the way to Anchorage, Alaska last year to be with her fiance who is stationed at the Air Force base there. They are both back home right now for 2 weeks and will be getting married on August 2nd. It will be a small wedding with 80-100 guests of immediate family and close friends.

A bridal shower was held for her today. Since she does live in Alaska, to avoid the hassle (and expense) of shipping gifts back there, the shower theme was a money tree shower. Guests sent cards & cash to the shower hostess who then hung the cash on a tree. This was kept a secret from Kristen who was pleasantly surprised to see that money does indeed grow on trees....well at least for today!

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few pics of the beautiful bride-to-be, her money tree, and the quaint little country church she will be married in...oh, and one of her with me.....the Mother-of-the-Bride! WOW!

You and your daughter look so much alike! So pretty! All I can tell you is to enjoy the moment. Our baby daughter was married two years ago and I just tried to enjoy every moment of it and not stress too much. I did have some tears and stress a few days before, but the day of her wedding I just felt a calmness come over me. I will never forget how beautiful she looked and happy. Congratulations!

Thank you also. I hope her wedding is perfect for her too. For a while there, she said she didn't even want a "wedding"; just to get married quietly. Then she found her dress, and boom........suddenly we were planning a wedding!

Kim, actually I already am a grandma! My oldest son has a daughter: Emily just turned 7 this month. I also have two step-grandchildren ages 8 and 2 (girl and boy).

Thank you for the compliment. A few people have said "You're gonna CRY at that wedding" and I thought "Eh, maybe a little" Well geez, tears were welling up in my eyes as she read my card today, so yeah.......there will be plenty of tears (of joy for her) on her wedding day.

And wow-the two of you are both just glowing with happiness in that picture of you two together. You are obviously very proud of your daughter-and she is very happy and lucky to have you as her mom!

Well, I am quite a bit older than you, so I won't rush you to catch up with me. LOL

I have a Few years but I am already worried.

She is beautiful just like mom. And if she is just as sweet that just more of a Treat.

Thanks Lori! Yep, I think the nervousness started today on the way to the shower....it's all becoming real now as it's getting closer. Also, those happy tears are starting appear more easily.
I think I/we've got things under control; thanks for your offer to help. I'm taking Wednesday off work to set up the hall and Friday off for last minute stuff and the rehearsal/dinner. Then it's the big day...........stay tuned for those pics.

What a unique idea for the money tree. Very cleaver and very
useful:p What a lovely little country church. Please post the
pictures when the celebration is over. Prayer's coming your way
for the perfect day. It truly is a very special day and the day
