Big Boo Boo...
 

Ok, so today my Dh says he's going to prune some shrubs in the yard. Meanwhile I'm inside vacumming etc. My DH comes in the house and says:
DH: "I'm going to the dump.
Me: Why???
DH: Because I have to take the tree I cut down to get rid of it..
Me: What tree
DH: You know the one one the side of the house that you hate
Me: I don't now what one you are talking about
DH: You know...the one you hate
Me: OK...show me..
I look out the window, of course, thinking the worst. OK, I see some I thought he would cut down...don"t see anything that alarmed me....then we go outside to look......
Me: OOOOOHHHHH, S**t.....that's not me tree, that's Martha's tree...(Martha is our neighbor)
DH: Very sheepish and petrified look...all rolled into one...(is that possible???)
Me: I think you better go talk to Martha
DH: I guess I better
...Ok, now he's been gone for about 10 or 15 minutes and I'm figuring my neighbor has killed him. He returns home....rest of story....
DH: I'm so sorry, I accidently cut down your tree.
Martha: OH NO, what tree?
DH: the one on the side of the house
....Martha steps outside and looks. She was thinking the worst, but as she looks down the side of the house she realizes what tree it was..........
Martha: OH, thank you I always hated that tree and was going to have my gardenrer cut it down....
DH:(In his mind.....WHEW!!!)
Me: YOU ARE SOOO LUCKY...and you are not allowed to do any more pruning without wife supervision.

It is amazing that it turned out so well. ;) It could have been awful if she just 'loved that tree'.

Isn't that the truth? I was afraid she would be very upset, but am relieved it turned out this way.

Darn...is that the problem? I didn't know they had their own dictionary!!

That's not a bad idea...after all she was going to have her gardener remove it. Not only did DH not charge for labor, but he had to pay to take the remains to the dump!!!!!

That's funny! I bet DH was petrified going over to confess to the neighbor. Glad it worked out!

I'm sure it was...I thought for sure she'd kill him!! And you should have seen the look on DH face when I informed him it WAS NOT our tree....priceless!!!

That sounds like it could happen in my own backyard. Guess I better tie some strings around our trees so DH feels the urge atleast he'll cut ours. LOL.

Or better yet, maybe confiscate the reciprocal saws or anything sharp.
