Gifts to buy for someone who just had a baby??? My boyfriend's aunt just had a baby girl this past weekend! He is so excited because his family is mainly all males...and i'm excited too because i'm the youngest in my family besides my little brother (i can barely remember when he was born). Anyways, we'd really like to get some gifts for the baby as well as some gifts for his aunt. I'm thinking more essential things because they live in a small room and don't have much room for things they wouldn't need. Also, we'd like to get his aunt something that could help her in her recovery. Thanks!! |
I have 3 kiddos and I honostly think the best gifts were diapers, wipes, bottle liners and stuff that I used several time a day and were costly. Not the most personal but they were always very much appreciated and got their use! Nice Mom things could be candles, picture albums, comfy slippers, hair ties, nail polish. My DH got me this really neat little digi keychain picture album that I could upload pics onto. I hooked it to my diaper bag and showed everyone I saw, lol! It automatically scrolled through the pics and the quality was decent for only being $20! |

Food is a wonderful idea! Very thoughtful. :) Also, some really nice body lotion or bath gel. New moms rarely have time to bath and take care of themselves and almost never spend money on themselves. Something thoughtful like that would be welcome I think. |
just going thru this at moment. My friend just had twins. I got a big wicker basket and put all sorts of things like diapers, onesizes, wipes, bibs, pjs, towels and couple of little rattle type toys. For mom, we are doing a couple of meals per house in the neighborhood so they don't have to cook for awhile. Also I am making her a scrapbook so she can put their pics in. |
Meals are really nice.... or gift cards to places that offer take-out or delivery. Of course, being the first little girl, you will enjoy looking at all the cute girly clothes out there........ but consider getting some in bigger sizes... maybe in size 18 - 24 months (that size will be able to be worn NEXT year about this time). How about a really pretty set of towels for the new Mom. Something really soft fluffy. It was one of my fav gifts after I had my first daughter. |
