College YT'ers..... When does your fall semester start? Mine starts in less than 3 weeks! August 22nd :eek: And our semester goes until December 16th! I can't help but think "Where did my summer go?" I worked it away I guess. I remember in elementary school when school didn't start until the end of Sept. So what about you all? |
Same here it starts on the 22nd. I feel like all I did was work all summer. School keeps starting earlier and earlier. My brother starts on my bday the 18th. He is in grade school though. |
yup same.......... 22nd, i am so sad :( i dont want to go back, oh well at least it is my FINAL SEMESTER WOO HOO (at least of classes anyway) then onto 9 months of students teaching (oh joy....... without pay :thumbdown ) |
i'm actually not sure when school starts only because this will be my fist time going to a community college.. I did go to a vocational school (I am now an LVN) i'm going to college for my pre reqs to become an RN (i'm 19) I hope i can get some classes in before I transfer to MSMC for RN. I don't even know how this whole college thing works to be quite honest lol. I think i should go fill out an application quick if classes might be starting soon! :D |
22nd for us too...blech. I am so not in the mood to go back to school, even though it's my last year. All that reading and all those papers...no fun! |

My daughter will be a freshman at the University of Southern Indiana. They start classes later than most, Aug. 29. But she has to be there on the 25th for Welcome Week. So, my baby's moving out in less than 3 weeks! *sigh, sniff, sigh* |
I also start on the 29th...most colleges in my area start that week. I have a friend who has to start on the 22nd and she gets out a week later than I do this semester too. I guess it's one of the perks of going to a University. Maybe not..who knows...lol. I am dreading this school year, I enjoyed my summer way too much! |
I start September 7th...I'm in first year University though...I am sooo scared. I'm excited, but its a big change. I don't really know what to expect! |
I have no idea when I start, but I think its like the 25th or something? We never start on a Monday. Elementary school end of September? wow! i'm w/ rosie. Our grade school started 3rd week in August at the latest. |
We start the week of the 22nd, I can't believe the summer is over, mine went by to fast but that was because I never stopped classes, I took both summer sessions trying to get everything ready to graduate this coming May...only two more semester to go thought...yea!!! |
Yea, this is my first summer of NOT taking classes. I needed the break. But the break wasn't long enough :( I was raised up in Alaska, so maybe that's where the difference in school starting came from :confused: |

22nd for me too!!! Summer seemed way too short...mine is only about 3 weeks long because i took summer classes and worked full time!! I am kind of excited about going back!!! I know I am a nerd I like school :) |
Khristine- I think with most community colleges you have until the week before classes to sign up. I woud call the school and tell whomever you get on the phone that you're interested in taking classes- they'll know where to direct you. Grade school and high school always started the Thursday after Labor Day for me. They just did a segment on the Today Show about how today is the first day of school for a lot of kids. That's almost a month earlier than I used to go! |
I start classes on the 29th of August, but move into my sorority earlier in the week! |
I start the 22nd too! I don't know where the summer went! :eek: Can't I just have another month or so before I have to go back to law school again???? |

I start school August 18th. I am 28 and going back to school. :eek: I work full-time and am going to take evening and online courses..while taking care of 2 kids and a husband and a 3 dogs...lol wish me luck! |

LOL :) Im going back actually.....I am a certified dental assistant by trade but im going back for business degree in management. I run a daycare during the day, but my husband is doing his own business so im learnibg all the in and outs of running a full office for him. :) Thanks for the good luck.. 22nd for me, too. When I was in elementary school, classes started in the middle of September, too. That was in rural Virginia. |
My school works on terms, rather than semesters, so we don't start until Sept. 26th. On the flip-side, our elementary/middle/high schools are on a semester schedule, so they start just after labor day. |
Sillyjacki is my daughter....and I just got back from taking her to school. :( Rice University for her 3rd year. She had to be there early for Orientation week and check in. I miss her already. |
I am a graduate student.. Classes start after Labor day (I actually start Spetember 15) because I have a monday class so we start a week later.. I am a teacher so work for us starts september 6!! Only about 3 more weeks of summer left :( |
