Red River Humane Society-- WTG!!!! Today around 1 or so, my mom and I went to Petsmart in Mckinney. As we were going we walked past a fairly new model SUV (Toyota something or other) with 3 wienie dogs in and the windows... NO KIDDING.... a "smidgen" cracked  The Red River Humane Society just happened to be outside with their rescues and I asked if they had noticed how long that car had been sitting there. They immediately jumped into action by calling the local SPCA (was going to take 20 minutes) and called the local police. I went ahead into the store. When I came back out (about 20 minutes) the lil babies were still in the car, no owner in sight, no sign of Police or SPCA but the ladies with the Humane Society had dropped ice cubes into the seat for them. This is Texas and at 1pm it was well on its way to 98 so you can imagine how hot it was in that car :(:(:( Anyway, as we are talking with the ladies at the Humane Society, this woman said OH YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT MY DOGS!!! and proceeded to make excuses and I tell you what, the lady from the Humane Society (she was a tiny thing in her early 60's) was letting that lady have it. She lectured her all the way to the car!!!!!:thumbup: The lady had the nerve to drive up and complain bc they put ice in the car?!?!!?!? SOME PEOPLE! I was very proud of those ladies with the Humane Society jumping into action as quickly has they did. I really wish there were more laws around this and enforced! |
wow...some people are so STUPID.. seriously i cant even last 10 secs in a car with the windows ALL DOWN on a hot day.. and this lady does this?? why even bring her dogs out..? i always wonder what i should do whenever i see a dog in a car on a hot day.. we dont have like animal police here and i doubt our humane society would drive all the way here to look because its in another city.. am i supposed to call the cops?? |

I would also write down the license plate and desc of the car then go to all of the stores that are close by and have this person paged. The person should be charged with some type of animal cruelty, I would think, depending on the laws in your city. |
okay thank you.. i hope i never have to see another dog in a car on a hot day but if i do i am going to report it from now on! |

Wow what a stupid lady. I am glad it didnt go unnoticed though. Maybe she will not do it again after the embarressement |
WAY TO GO is right :thumbup::thumbup: What - cause SHE was in a nice air conditioned store... she thought her dogs would be 'ok' while she shopped ? I can't believe people - it's almost 100 in Texas these days in the SHADE add 20 or more degrees in a car with windows up... cracked or not & that makes it dangerously HOT :mad: those little dogs were very lucky you all were there to help. I just don't understand what goes thru peoples heads - They SEE on the news just like we all do in hot states, that it can easily be fatal even after only a very short time. Good for little Dynamo Human Society Lady - I hope she ripped her a - well...you know :D ps....another thing to do if you see a dog or child in a hot car is to tell the store - some have security right on the premises |
WOW. Its so hot here (though probably not as hot as Texas) that I don't even like to take Laney and Slade on errands that I'll be in the car the whole time (bank, fast food, and such). I can't imagine leaving them in the car while I actually got out and did something. Some people are so stupid. I'm glad the Humane Society told the lady off. |
way to go spca!! that woman is an idiot. how would she like to be closed up in a hot car for half an hour or more? every summer, dogs and little kids die from that heat and it amazes me just how stupid some people really are... |
I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE WORKED AT THE HUMANE SOCIETY ... DOESN'T SHE OF ALL PEOPLE KNOW BETTER ? WHAT AN IDIOT !!!!!!!!! |
