Reunion.com is such a spamming scam!

Tonight I got an forwarded email from a friend that I hadn't talked to in a few years that had a message like, "Do you know ____ ____? They are looking for you!" So I go to the site, sign up, and everything looks OK. Then, I go to my email account to find out that it has sent the same message to EVERYONE in my address book! What a disaster! There are a number of people in my address book who I have no contact with anymore but kept their contact information in case I needed it. :eek: Can you believe something like this is legal?? In order to cancel your account you have to CALL.

Apparently the site is legit BUT they regularly spam their members. I also read that their are the same (sister?) company as classmates.com which does the same thing.

So be on the lookout of this ripoff of a website! :rolleyes:

OH YES! I canceled that classmates.com thing REAL quick :rolleyes: A total scam is right - I HATE that spam mail junk they send!! :thumbdown

Can you believe it?? Like I said, I don't know how this type of thing is legal! Did you have to call to cancel that too??

I feel so dumb! I normally Google these types of things before I sign up for anything.

Don't feel dumb - I think alot of us have fallen for it...I know I have :rolleyes: Although I'm usually pretty good about googling stuff too...

It's been a long time since I canceled the classmates.com thing, so I can't even remember exactly how I did it, but I honestly don't remember ever having to call to do it :confused: Unless they changed it now? I honestly have no idea. If you DO have to call though, that's ridiculous! Talk about making it as hard as humanly possible to unsubscribe from the crap....:rolleyes:

I'm sure most people don't even want to mess with having to call them - and I guess that's just their sneaky little way of trying to keep their members around :thumbdown

Yeah, I bet you are right... most people probably wouldn't go through the effort of calling them. I know I will be calling (and threatening :p) them tomorrow!

I think that happened to Caren with Classmates once also. If it makes you feel any better I got your email explaining but never got one from Reunion so it didn't do to absolutely everyone. That is ridiculous though.

i love classmates.com...i have gotten back in touch with some friends that i hadent seen since high school....and that is the only way i would have found them....i love it
