Digital cameras 1 Attachment(s) I have a Sony Cyber-shot 3.2 mega pixels camera that my dear husband bought me about 3 years ago. It's decent but I know the quality has improved and the prices have dropped dramatically,( thank goodness.) I just wondered if anyone has recommendations on upgrading. Also, what software do you like to use for editing? :aimeeyork |
Here's some threads that may help: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...igital+cameras http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...igital+cameras |
I'm still using an old 2.0 mega pixel camera so I've also been looking for a new one.. It depends on what you'd like to spend.. there are a bunch of fantastic cameras out there now.. some good middle of the road cameras are: Fujifilm Finepix A350 5.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Canon PowerShot A95 5MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Fujifilm Finepix Z1 5.1MP with 3x Optical Zoom I use Adobe Photoshop for photo editing, it has soooo many awesome features and it's fairly easy once you get the hang of it. |
i have a Nikon 5600 and i use pictureproject |
I recommend any Canon product. I have a Canon Digital Elph. Very sturdy and compact. I have limited knowledge of photoshop for editing. |
Canon Powershot A95 - in my opinion is the ONLY choice out there right now, LOL. It's an awesome camera, the price is fair, considering the quality of Canon lenses is far beyond any other brand right now. So you don't realize it but you're getting SO much more for your money. And you can get a good price on them at www.buydig.com - that's where I bought my last digital camera and it's great. Ok so if you for some reason refuse to get the Canon, I also "admire" the Sony DSC-W1 and the Nikon Coolpix S1 **And if you wondered how well I know my info, I know all of this off the top of my head, LOL. I'm a camera snob, I know. Right now I use a Nikon Coolpix 8700 for my business and for fun, the Powershot A95, which has been the highest rated point and shoot digital camera on the market this past year. |
I have a Nikon coolpix 4600 and I like it a lot. |

I have a Kodak Easyshare CX7525 It is 5mp and it has great zoom. I like the mode dial on top, it is quick and easy to use. I use the kodak software it comes with most of the time, but i also use Microsoft Picture it Publishing, to do more fun stuff. They have them at walmart for like 200 with the dock and everything |
I have an older version of Valerie's camera- I think it's the A270, but not sure. I liked it when it was new, but it's starting to slow down a bit. (Quite a pain when you're trying to get photos of a very active yorkie!) I really want the camera that Rachel (rachelfraim) has, which is the Canon Digital Rebel. I'd have to brush up on my SLR skills, though. Her pictures are always so beautiful. |
Val, if you recommend this Canon Powershot A95 that is what I will get. I'm going to the site right now. I'll probably have to wait til after the holidays. |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...igital+cameras hehee that's my old thread.. The recommendations i got were awesome because I ended up getting the Canon SD500 (7.1 megapixels).. I just have to say i'm still learning how to use it, but the effects are awesome and I love it! if you don't have much to spend, i'd say get the SD200 which is still quite nice and very small! I actually like all the Canon's that I took a look at and played with at the store lol Good luck and I hope you find the right camera! :) |
Val, the powershot a95 is $269 so thats not too bad. I wouldn't know where to start to shop for a camera. Thanks so much for your advise. Did you send Sully's picture to GQ yet?? ha ha |
We just ordered a Canon SD400. They run at about $399.99 but luckily for us, someone caught a glitch on the Office Depot website and they accidently listed it for $279.99 with a $30 off coupon code. I don't know the quality of the pictures but I'll let you know! |
Thanks for all the advice. I want to check out that Canon. |
