Just thought I'd share a really cool arrangement that I got to make at work yesterday (I work in a flower shop). A man came in to order something really nice for his wife for their 7th wedding anniversary. When he told me what he wanted, it blew my mind! He didn't care about any of the specifics like colors, style of arrangement, vase, etc...just as long as it had 6 DOZEN CARNATIONS AND 1 DOZEN ROSES!:eek: It took me about 2 hours to complete the arrangement and it was huge and boy was it heavy! :D The vase I used was a 2 1/2 foot tall solid glass wine shape- the top half was black and the stem was clear. The completed arrangement stood a little over 4 feet! This picture just shows the front view...it looked like this all the way around! Whatcha think?:D

gorgeous is not enough to describe it....and i love carnations.....my fav are pink carnations.....hubby and i have been married for almost 22 years and he still gets it wrong....lol...i have gotten so many Roses through the years that i really dont want another one....but they are pretty....he heard me say i was tired of the same old thing to one of our daughters...so this valentines what did i get....miniature roses....he says " i thought you would like something a little different this year...well at least he got the color right this year...they were pink.....but bless his little heart he hid them in his truck over night and they got frost bitten and never recovered....so oh well...i guess we keep trying to get this thing right.....those are beautiful....and i love the vase

That is beautiful- I would be thrilled to receive it! Also you can really get a perspective on how massive it is with the phone in the background. Hope the delivery guy gets a good tip 'cause that's got to be one heavy arrangement.:p

What an incredible arrangement. Some little wifey must be very very lucky. I am sure that the 6 dozen carnations and one dozen roses held some romantic signifiance for the couple.

You did an absolutely fantastic job!

Well if this man did that at 7th wedding anniversary. Think what he will do at 10 or 20 yrs. Those was really pretty and she should be very proud of that man.

LOL The story about your husband is unfortantly VERY common!:D There are a few guys that come in and know exactly what they want...however, the majority of men that step foot in the flower shop look sticken with fear and have absolutely no idea what they should be getting.:rolleyes: You should hear some of the explanations I've been given from guys trying to describe what their wife/gf/mothers favorite flower is.:D

Thank you so much for all of the kind responses! I had mixed feelings about doing this arrangement...part of me was crazy excited and the other part was terrified that it wouldn't turn out. I always fear that the customer won't like what I've designed and when it's dealing with this much money, that fear is quadrupled! But, I think it turned out GREAT! :D

What a lovely arrangement you created! I have great admiration for those of you who are able to put flowers together and make it soooooo beautiful. I've tried and it is always a disaster.
