Im shaving the cat..........
 
I have my grammas cat cause she is selling her house. He is super fat. almost 30 pounds of fat cat. He is so fat that he cant clean the hair above his tail so I am shaving him down. I will take some before and after pics of him for you all. I just dont know what else to do for him. The vet says he isn't an unhealthy fat cause he is big not only fat. He sheds something horrible and I am tired of all the cat hair, too. Im not a cat person. But I love him dearly and wont let him go homeless because my gramma is ill.

awww if its what's best for him. i totally get it. my cat smokey is HUGE. in more ways than one. he is sooooo furry and fluffy i love using him as a pillow lol. i really don't mind the cat hair, but once in a while it gets REALLY annoying!! i've never shaved him, and i don't think i would ever put a groomer or vet through that with him. we took him t othe vet to get his rabies shot and everything and he never scratches. he tore dr. kahare to SHREDS!!! the poor man was bleeding sooo badly by the time he was done. now he wraps him in a towel to do it. hee-hee. good luck!!!!

You're so kind to take care of him. I bet he's going to look adorable after you shave him. Fat cats are so cute!!

aww poor kitty your grma has to put him on a diet thats how my 4 year old cat died when fat cats dont eat for even one day there liver goes bad and they can die like my kitty
ok on a happier note lol i cant wait to see pics thats gonna be funny LOL !

PLEASE!!! Write an article on How to Shave a Cat! It would be sooooooo funny!! :D

My luck this cat is going to look like a cancer patient when I am done with him. The perks though are that he is declawed all the way around so no worries about looking like edward scissorhands got ahold of me. All I have to look out for are the teeth.

I will for sure take some pics. I would right now but the battery in my camera is dead so I have to charge it. I wont shave him though for another day or so. He has had enough stress the past month and I want him to settle in a little more before I shave him down.

I do have to shave him though. I am allergic to cats and my alergist said that if I shave him it will help me with my allergies.

i would suggest 1 thing. i know you can't wrap him in a towel because you need to shave him duh!! but while you're doing it hold on to the back of the neck. like the lose skin. this keeps them calm, and it doesn't hurt. at least thats what i've heard from just about everyone........ :confused:
