Totally off subject=breast reduction Ok my doctor has been trying to talk me into this for about 5 years and since i had my weight loss surgery i have dropped 3 cup sizes but they are still causing me quite a bit of discomfort so matthew and i have agreed that i am going to get a reduction i am just wondering if anyone here has had one, what is the scarring like how much pain etc....any info will be great. |
I just wanted to wish good luck. I have never had any corrective surgery so I don't have any information. I will have you in my prayers. |
Never had it done, but knew 2 women that did. They never regretted it at all. In fact, they were very pleased with the results. Best of luck to ya! Keep us updated! |
2 Attachment(s) BTW here are a few pics the first is me before weightloss surgery(notice how its taken from FAR AWAY) and the second is me in vegas last year 70lbs lighter |
Wow...great willpower! Congrats on losing all that weight! You must be very proud!! I know two women who had breast reductions, and both of them wonder why they didn't do it sooner. They both had severe back/shoulder pain, and the reduction has helped a lot with it. I actually know another girl who did it (boy, I know a lot of big-boobed girls) and she has severe scarring. But I guess that's nothing compared to the relief from upper back pain. In any event, good luck! |
2 Attachment(s) wow I have been thinking about the same thing. I am big up top also and it all started in my pregancy. I was about 105 before and now I am like well lets just say I gained over 80lb during my pregancy. I was always really fit and active, I still am I just cant seem to loose the weight and my son is almost 6 so it is long over due.. Well last year my dr. said I have hypothyroid desease. And put me on some meds well this year I went back for a check up and it just went away  OK well why am I not able to loose weight I have tryed everything now I am just about tired.. Plus the fact I and a 42D and I hate it. My backpain and neck are so sore all the time. I am def looking into doing something about my problems next year just trying to loose weight before I do go through with surgery. But I know someone who did it and was so happy afterwards. BTY congrats on loosing 70lbs. Thats great. Here is a before and after pict. |
My sisters best friend had it done. She was HUGE and after wards, yes there was some discomfort, not pain, just discomfort she said. She did it like 3 years ago, and you can barely even see the scar. But she said the scar took like 2 years to really flatten and lighten. But she is soooo happy and said would do it again in a heartbeat if she had to. |
Not exactly, but I had the other end of the scale done - I had a breast augmentation. It's been a little over 2 years since I've had the surgery and I'm sure you're probably thinking "Gawd, I'm trying to get rid of mine and you got more added?" (That's what everyone tells me who's 'blessed' up top) I know the scarring for the reduction is more than it is with the augmentation, but in 2 years my scars have faded to where you can't see them at all! The surgery itself was fine, no problems. I have 2 friends who've gotten reductions (they both think I'm crazy) and they love their results. One got a lift along with the reduction, due to sagginess from a pregnancy and she looks fabulous now! I say go for it! |

BUT....Surgery has risks - and sometimes we might want something changed and it doesn't work out the way we want - IF you can get by without surgery I would say don't do it and find a GREAT bra ! |
I had a friend who had a breast reduction and she said it was a blessing! You don't feel anything during surgery, the scars are practically invisible (she showed me), the only downside is the soreness after the operation, but that goes away and it's all worth it :) GOOD LUCK! :) |
I had it done !!!!!!! :D :D Just wanted to let you know I had a Bresat Reduction over a year ago..It was one of the BEST things I have done for myself!!! I had very large breast for most of my early preteen years and they just got bigger.. I feel so much better ,and buying shirts is alot easier too!! and I have NEVER regretted it once!!! :D :D I went from a 38ddd or whatever I could find ..(because that still didnt fit me ,but the bigger the bra..cost more in specailty stores and also didnt look so pretty). To a very happy & perky :D 38 full D .. :D Soooooooooo I just want to tell you, I had very little discomfort after surgery ,( pain meds handled it great ) I still get the every now and then "reminder" that I had it done..which is just a little nerve pain ..but it was so well worth it. I even know of a great forum that all woman will help support you by helping you know what you need to prepeare and tell you their experiances.I dont think I can post the link to the forum in here, so PM me if you would like it. Best of luck on whichever choice you make :) |
The wife of a coworker had breast reduction surgery last year. She has not regretted doing it. She was going through the same physical issues you are. I say go for it. Good luck! :) |
Congratulations on the weight loss My best friend did it and says it's the best thing she ever did for herself!! She says it was a mild discomfort and very little scarring. She's tried to talk me into it, but I'm such a weinnie!! (AND I'm afraid to believe her - she gave birth to twins so I question her pain threshold!) Good luck whatever you decide! |
