these antibiotics are killing me well its only day 3/14 with these antibiotics and they are making me feel so sick. Does anyone know of anything i can do to make the nausea go away? |
My husband is having the same issue right now. Have you tried taking them with yogurt or a glass of milk? |
i'm lactose intolerant. Does the milk get rid of the nausea? cause if he finds taht it does i'm having a glass of milk RIGHT now! |
Oh Marci, I didn't know that you were feeling sick!:( I hope you start to feel better soon! |
Try a half of a banana with the pill. It's important that you take it with some kind of food...that should help. |
Try taking it with a meal. Some people say chewing gum helps with nausea. Hope you feel better soon |
Thanks everyone. I take them twice a day with a meal. I find the morning one not so hard but the supper one is killing me. I guess you do what you gotta do to get rid of a sinus infection! |
I had to do 4 weeks of them to get rid of a sinus infection. It was horrible. I had to try 3 different kinds and found one that only made me feel half as bad as the others. It was horrible. Nothing helped. I hope you feel better soon!!! |
ginger is good for nausea. try drinking some ginger ale... might help. ;) |
A doctor gave a me a prescription for nausea because the percocet (?) I took after surgery made my head literally spin..(from the anesthesia)..I was awful...I'm copying from the bottle..It's promethazine 25mg tab mallinckro generic equivelant for Phenergan 25mg tab Don't know why your nausea (if pregnant, don't take this Im sure) You can google it or call your dr. Hope this info helps..:) |
You can still take yogurt even if you are lactose intolerant. Antibiotics kill the good bacteria as well as the bad bacteria, and yogurt should always be added after taking antibiotics. Whether or not it will help with the nausea, I don't know, but it will help with other things. |
I get sinus infections at least twice a year. You are suppose to eat yogurt to replace the good bacteria and to prevent a yeast infection. I hate the taste of yogurt so my doctor told me to take acidophilus. They sell it in the vitamin section. (After you open the bottle you need to refrigerate. I don't know if it will help with nausea. |
I have to drink lactose free milk but I find that a glass of "milk" definitely helps with taking medication. Just make sure that it is okay. You can ask your phramacist about that. Hope you feel better soon. I suffer from sinus issues also.:( |
Marci, I'm sorry that you're so sick from the antibiotic. Maybe you could call the doctor and see if they would change it to another type of antibiotic that would be easier on your gut. It's going to be a long 2 weeks if you have to finish it. You have had enough trouble with your tummy and don't need this too!! :aimeeyorkHugs to you and Layla. |

Just make sure you get the kind with the live cultures. "People who are lactose intolerant have a hard time digesting milk products because they lack the enzyme that breaks down the main carbohydrate in milk. Yogurt is a unique dairy food because the starter cultures actually produce that enzyme during fermentation. Thus, the milk sugar in yogurt is more easily digested, even for lactose-intolerant individuals. Many people who commonly experience gas, bloating or discomfort from dairy foods can digest yogurt more easily, thanks to the starter cultures. This is especially true if the yogurt contains live cultures." Live, Active and Probiotic: The Yogurt Culture |
i use azo yeast * a homeopathic way to prevent /treat yeast infections when i take antibiotics. they sell it @ drugstores. AZO Products | AZO YEAST, Fast relief of yeast infection symptoms |
I have to eat a meal right before I take them. Also I eat some yogurt |
I'm sorry your feeling bad Marci. I was gonna said that about the yogurt, because it mantains the good bacteria in your body. Don't they sell lactose free yogurt? I don't know, just asking. Is there any other light med you can take for the nausea, like peptobismol? Maybe chamomille tea can help ease your stomach too. |
