I know with prices going up I am not buying as much. My grocery bill has almost doubled

Been shopping in the mall or stores lately? Summer stuff is already drastically reduced. I'm sure it's related to lucklaster sales and an attempt to get people to spend.

I think with the economy and prices being what they are right now everyone is curbing their spending. I know I have to :(. It seems like every utility bill we have has doubled and the cost of just about everything else has also gone up so high.

So how long does everyone think this will last?:confused:

I work part time, I take care of a elderly lady, 10 hours a week at the most and then I sew on the side to be able to stay home with the furbabies and my own children.

It's really getting to the point where I'm getting scared, our house payment is killing us along with everything else.

Until gas prices drop.. whenever that may be. With gas so expensive, it causes the prices on everything else to rise. I put $15 in my tank yesterday and it put only a little over an 8th of a tank in. I'm way stressed out over money issues. I've got a $300 car payment due in a week and ZERO money in my bank. I've been looking almost nonstop for jobs and haven't been called for any interviews- I have a college degree and good work history I didn't think it would be this hard. I've got several things up on eBay this week, but even eBay sales have been slow.

Clark Howard said the other day, he looks for gas prices to be back down before the end of the year. My guess would be in November after the election - whoever wins.

It would be soooo wonderful if gas drops then. I want to move across country, but there is no way possible I can do it unless gas prices go back down some.

Aww honey I know it's scary..the job market is horrible all over. I will say an extra prayer that you find something that can at least help you along until "THE" job comes along.

Yes, but really, they won't drop much....which is the sad thing.
Locally, we have had several gas stations close...either because they can't afford the gas prices or they are just not making enough to keep afloat.

We were on a trip to my parents cabin the other day and past by an older gas station that had been closed for awhile and the gas sign still read $1.75...we all soo wish it was back there...but we will more than likely never see it back in the $2 range. :thumbdown

I do think a lot of us have cut back on spending...not just on things that we want, but some things that we need too.

It seems, gas prices go up, utilities go up, groceries have really gone up. Some people are just working just to keep gas in their cars and almost nothing else.

Just the other day, we got a letter from our house insurance, saying that it was being raised because if something were to happen, there would be no way we could rebuild at the price we built it for or what our coverage is for....that is HORRIBLE!
--we are looking into other plans/companies!

I know at my DH's work...their insurance increased and they did away with over time and several other things...but yet their pay never increases to keep up w/ all the other increases!:mad::(

I do think the economy will perk up again...it will just be a slow and tough process for awhile.

OMG I'm afraid to go read that! :(

It\'s essentially saying things will remain the same until about next summer. Very depressing.

I know that our disposable income has disappeared:( I used to buy a lot more stuff for the girls, but now that money goes for our food and gas:mad:

I hope and pray that things get better soon!
