Is there any place other than eBay.... to sell some items???? I have a lot of books and clothing, etc. that my daughter has cleared out of her upstairs rooms....eBay seems so time consuming (even w/ the turbo lister) and it seems that their listing and ending fees have gone up even more. I need to have a yard sale, but we have been so busy, I just can't find the time (and then I have to have it at my parents house in town...and then the whole family has to put stuff in --- not just my mother and sister, but the grandparents, aunts, cousins, etc....and that leaves only ME to work it:thumbdown).... ANYWAY, back to topic...any good sites were you can sell your items...besides eBay? THANKS IN ADVANCE! |
You can list stuff on craigslist....it's free. |
Craigslist. It's free. I've sold a few things there. Just be careful. A lot of people that respond to your ads are flakes. They'll say they're stopping by, and they never show up. I make a special disposable email address for my ads there. But all in all, it is still a pretty decent resource |
Deb... you jinxed me! :p |
You know, I have never even checked out CraigsList...isn't that crazy!? But, I would rather NOT have to meet someone and of course, do NOT want anyone to come to my house...all items are small enough to ship.....so w/ CraigsList.....I can put up items for sale and include shipping in the price, etc....do you sign up for this? |

Craigslist is free so you don't lose anything just for trying. You could try listing a shipping price and see how it goes. The thing that is different about Craigslist though is that it is local...So most people like being able to just pick stuff up. Maybe you could try meeting people at a mutually agreed upon public place so they don't have to come into your home. That's what I have done. |
A lot of people who buy stuff on craigslist do it because they are afraid of buying online so they may not go for having it shipped. One thing I'll do sometimes is say I'll meet them near my work or something like that. For selling books though I like to use Amazon. The rates weren't too bad last I checked, but that was almost 2 years ago. |
I have sold stuff on Amazon, I also heard of a new selling site called ibabyauction, I thin u can sell stuff at overstock.com i am not sure i thought when i looked it up there were people selling things. |
Jenn, do you have any Consignment Shops in your area?:icon5: |
We've sold a few thing on C.list, I just tell them to come either on weekends or after 8pm.when my husband is home.Another option will be a yard sale, everyone is trying to save a penny and yard sales are having a good turn out...love driving around early saturday morning looking for them! |
books you can sell on half.com..... or how about that etsy site? hope some of this helps.... |
Thanks everyone! Quote:
I will of something....I can always do eBay........ |
After my husband died and I had to move and downsize - I sold everything on craigslist - It's a really good site and you can screen people more or less - try to meet them outside or your garage if possible and have someone with you. I was alone and there were a few times I was a little worried but everything worked out. and take pictures !! take GOOD pictures - stuff sells much faster with a good photo and try to put all the info you can in your post ....I had master copies of wording so I didn't have to keep repeating myself in emails also - after a week or so - REPOST IT - just copy your original sale wording - delete the old one and re-upload the photos again - that works if something doesn't sell the first time - |
