Thank you all so much for your opinions!! :D Hubby and I decided a couple of hours ago that we are indeed going to go with the darker floors :D Seeing it in person is just wow...it is so darn gorgeous, we both love it! There were a few times that I thought I wanted the lighter...but no matter what I always went back to the dark (we both did) so that is what we will be sticking with :D If it takes alot more cleaning, well, that's ok with me :D I'd rather have a floor I love than to get one that I didn't like as much just because it is easier to keep clean :p We already ordered it and it will be in on Friday and they are coming to install it all on Monday or Tuesday (he is going to call us and let us know exactly when) WOOHOO!!! :cheer: And they are going to be knocking out our tile in the entry way so I'm sure we are going to have a huge mess  but like I care....I just want my new floor, LOL! :D Thank you all again for your help and opinions and I will most definitely post pics as soon as everything is all finished! :D |
Good Choice! I love the darker woods. Good Luck! d |
I was going to say darker.. and i see thats what you chose! Good Choice! |
I just put dark chocolate hard wood floors in my place in March. I love love love them but they are a lot of work. I have a black and white kitty and the white hair shows up immediately. I am constantly cleaning and vacuuming but I think that is a good thing....because with carpet or lighter hardwood floors you don't see the dirt, dust, cat hair, etc so you are less likely to clean as often even though it is still there. The dark wood keeps me on my toes and keeps my home cleaner....funny how that works, huh? Good Choice!!! |
ANOTHER vote for the Darker one!!! I like it I think it matches better... but that could just be me... both of them are nice but I just like the darker one better! good luck with what ever you decide! |
It's your backyard that caught my eye. Looks so inviting. And I do like the dark with your goldish walls. |

When you were looking at floors, did you happen to check into the vinyl? I have heard WONDERFUL things about them. Water cannot damage them and they do not scratch like real wood does and they are also much easier to keep. These are all the reasons why I decided to go with vinyl instead of real hardwood :) In person, they really do look (they have the "grooves" in them) and feel like real hardwood...they are just so pretty! :) They put these floors in ALOT of homes now...even in alot of the Parade of Homes houses here :) |

I'm jealous. I've been bugging hubby to pull all the carpet on the upper level and put in hard wood floors but he isn't going for it. Our carpet is only about 4 years old but I just hate carpet now. I did talk him into doing it for the lower level but I'm still trying on the upper. I told him, the next hunting trip he takes, he's going to come home and I'll have it all done:eek: I'm call that 588-2300-EMPIRE !!!! LOL I like them both and think they would both look great! (I know, I'm alot of help!) :D |

But I think you've got the right idea girl....when hubby goes on his hunting trip, go get your floor and have them install it while he's still away, LOL!! That way he won't be able to say too much :p Hahaha! Seriously though, I hope you get them soon girl! :D |
Congrats on the pick....and don't worry...you will be surprised how quick these floors get installed....My husband and I did our own last summer...3 bedrooms, livingroom and hallway and we did it over a long weekend...3 days...and it turned out beautifull!! You will love it!! Good Luck... |

Wow, I can see why you are having a hard time! They are both really nice. I think the dark can be stunning giving the right mix of colors and accents in the house, but I'm probably leaning a little more towards the light! Good luck! |

Love the dark! You wont be sorry. |
Brooke I don't know if you have ever seen this Bissell product but it is great. You vacuum wood floors with it, then flip is over and wash and dry with the other. It even heats so if there are sticky things that need to come up more easily. Bissell Flip-It Select Hard Floor Vac - 7340 : Target |
I think the darker is very elegant! I would go with that |

But I'd be very very interested in getting wood-look vinyl in my master bathroom. I don't want to put wood in there because of the water. I can't wait to see your pics when its all done. Anyway, here's my before and after pics....before Wilsonart Laminate in Northern Birch, After Lauzon Natural Maple: Attachment 222234 Attachment 222235 |

If you do go with a dark floor, you may want to paint your walls white. Anyway this is the name and color we chose: Company is called Bruce. Name is Springdale model # EB526, Butterscotch. It's so warm and cozy looking but not dark. It's a special order so we were told today it will be here in two weeks. :( I can send you pictures after it's installed if you would like? |
It takes me forever to decide when we change something. So I would say the dark one, but then again the other sounds great also. Let us know what you get, can't wait for pictures. I have been wanting some hardwood for the basement in my hobby room. We are still trying to decide what to put down there. Good Luck with the pick. |
