This is a DISGRACE! I found an actual dog auction site on a STOP PUPPY MILL website. I can't believe they actually have websites :eek:DOG AUCTION WEBSITE! |

That is unbelievable... All breeds... They have no consideration for the wellbeing of these puppies...And this is absolutely legal... |
This is just heartbreaking. |

The people who participate in these businesses keep getting away with it. I don't know of a way to stop them. I'll gladly take suggestions, I live in FL. |
OMG, horrible! |
I doubt there is a way to stop them, BUT if you click on the link for the 5/24 lineup, and scroll all the way to the bottom to the yorkies.. you can see who the breeders are for each one. WRITE THOSE NAMES DOWN and you are way ahead of the game on who NOT to ever buy from! |
OMG... is this legal... I have never seen a dog auction advertised like this.. in fact until I came to yt I never heard of a dog auction...:eek: Sad sad that dogs are treated in this manner...anne |
I went to this dog auction last Sat. and have yet to be able to formulate the exact post that I want to make about the experience. Suffice it to say my opinion of breeding/breeders is not very good right now. After leaving the auction, I went home, disinfected myself, hugged, kissed my babies and then cried - all night! |
That's absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I can't believe this ... those poor, poor dogs ... :( Amy |
 OMG I really feel sick to my stomach after seeing this!!! I can't believe it!! Did you see that kennel that was for sale! UGH! People are horrible! These poor, helpless animals! I feel soo sick! |
i wonder how many animals they actually sell each night. It would have to be a very big place with tons of people to get rid of that many dogs. I also wonder...haven't read into it yet, if there are any requirements...never heard of such a thing Yorkie Breeders: Steve Slater Sarah Crenshaw Bill Clark Cindy Johnson Ed Randall Kenne Carroll Tump Benham Sue Clark Norman Beck only two out of the bunch AKC |
OMG :( they have a "lineup" :( those poor puppies :( :( |
That is disgusting!:thumbdown |
This auction starts at 9 in the morning, I was there. The dogs are sold by breed, alphabetically. The yorkies weren't selling until later in the day, so I left (couldn't stay, it was making me sick and breaking my heart) and came back around 1:30. The yorkies finally sold around 3:00, after they were finished 6 pomeranians were sold/given away. They were entered too late to make the program. There were 324 dogs listed and I believe each one was there and either sold or given away. This is done Every Month, all year long! Next month it will be hot, this is in a metal building, the dogs are there All Day - Caged! I overheard the auctioneer say to another employee - "No money to made here today".....I wanted to SCREAM! Many of the puppies sold were Broker rejects. There was one breeder selling out his pugs and buying up another breed. One of his pugs that he sold, was pregnant at the time. He was wearing a shirt with "Oklahoma Pet Professionals" on the front and back. It's a USDA breeders association :thumbdown If you breed - Please, neuter pets before they go to their new homes. I know - you wouldn't want one of your little girls (or boys) to end up at the auction - and they just might otherwise. |

OH - they have help alright!!!!!!!!! That's another very sad aspect to this entire disgraceful business. At a young age they are indoctrinated into a way of life that has such total disregard and lack of respect for animal life. There were children, young children (6-10 y.o.) helping out.....struggling to lift dogs up on the auction table and hold them still, while pennies were being bid on the lives of the innocent. I wished I could have filmed what was going on. My words don't begin to describe the horror of it all.:cry8: |
We hope to save one or two from the miserable existance they may otherwise go on to live..... & instead get them living happy healthy lives with new forever homes. |
Since I have learned about these auctions, it has obsessed my every thought. How can we save these dogs? Why can't we pass a law that pet stores can no longer sell actual pets? That way the only way to get a dog is from a REPUTABLE breeder or at the Humane Society or Rescue Organizations. I have a puppy mill girl I bought from a breeder when she was 5 yrs old. I didn't realize it was a puppy mill til I got there, and the woman handed her to me and she shook for 45 minutes while I held her. She finally got the nerve to look up at me and I got one lick on the nose. I burst into tears and immediatly went to the bank for the $500. I was traumatized to have to put her back in the cage while I ran to the bank. That was 4 years ago, and when I think of what would have become of her had I not bought her all I do is cry. She couldn't drink water from a bowl, climb puppy steps or even jump up on the couch. To this day she just closes her eyes and leaps, only sometimes successfully. She wouldn't let you hold her, and I will never forget the first time she actually laid her head down on my hand. I didn't even breathe for fear of scaring her. Day by day she trusts a little more, but it is soooooo slow going. I want to buy every older dog at every dog auction so they don't take them out back and shoot them if they don't sell. How can we fix this. This is agonizing... |

Just throwing my two cents in.. can PETA be contacted to see what they can do? :eyeballpc |
I just posted this on another thread. Go to Puppy Mill Bill to help pass a bill in Ohio that potentially could be passed by summer. This could significantly get the ball rolling on a serious crackdown on Puppy Mills in Ohio. First Ohio and then on down the line... |
i cant even bring myself to look. |
those poor dogs it just sickens me what the world has come to and what people will do for money |
I've been keeping up with this months upcoming dog auction. On Mon. of this week there were only 2 pages of dogs to be auctioned this Sat. Yesterday the list was up to 4 pages. I just checked this morning and there are now 11 pages! What's makes this worse (if there could be worse) is that this is a "breeders auction"....all of these dogs are being bought to be bred. So, the vicious cycle will only continue:mad: Auction house, furniture, antiques, clothing - Chouteau, OK. |
What would happen if we all sent nasty letters to all the sellers, and got a list of the buyers and sent them even nastier letters? If it's ok to harrass celebrities because "that's the business they chose" why can't we do the same to the puppy millers? I have acquired MOUNDS of info since I first became aware of these auctions. There are alot of organizations that picket at the actual sale. I want to go to every auction andoffer $10 for every dog that doesn't sell so they don't take them in the back and shoot them. How is it even legal for them to do that? |
The only good thing is (if there is any good about it) that rescuers go on that site and actually buy them to rescue them...The guy that was on Oprah had said that some of the puppymill breeders call him and he goes and gets them...It's sad, but because it is still happening in this 'civilized' country, we at least have some people on top of it (or what they can do) and save these prisoners from death.... |
