U-Tube Experts - - Please Help! I haven't ever posted a video on U-Tube and have a couple of questions that I have been unable to find clear answers to. I wish to download a copy of the Oprah Puppy Mill Show, and I'm not sure if it's legal to do that sort of thing. The copywrite infringement information given seems to address issues of passing something off as your own work. Obviously, I wouldn't be doing this, but the law is confusing, also it seems like if it were legal, someone would have done this already. My second question would be, if it is legal, can I edit the commercials out, and my last question concerns time limits, can a video be one hour long? |
So nobody has any ideas? I did e-mail Oprah, and ask permission so we will see how that goes. |
Is there a Help section on youtube? I wish I could help, but I've also never posted anything on there. I would think though you would have to do the video in different parts, I'm not sure what the max. time for a video is. |
There is a help section that like most help sections isn't very helpful. I finally found out by watching lots of U-tubes there is a limit, this can be gotten around by downloading special codex (?) that compresses the movie without losing quality, but I think it would still be too long. I'm toying with the idea of several parts because it does lend itself to the idea of several segments, i.e. the actual puppymill, several success stories, and tips on buying a puppy. The main thing I don't understand is the copywrite infringement. There are lots of different videos shown that were actually made by others, and I don't know how they get around this. The Internet does seem to have different set of laws. I just don't want Harpo suing me. Thanks for replying; hopefully if I can't download it to U-Tube they will be ok with me making a DVD of it, but then again, maybe not. I did ask them to consider posting it on their site. I have been editing the commercials out today, and again it made my cry my eyes out. |
