Ever Been To The Melting Pot? It is our 1 year wedding anniversary on June 1st and we have reservations to go to the Melting Pot. We have never been there but I have heard lots of great things. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to try? |
No I have always wanted to go. My nephew went a couple of months ago and said it was great. He liked the cheese and desert ones. Enjoy and Happy Anniversary |
The Melting Pot is absolutely my favorite restuarant. I got at least twice a year, usually around my birthday and christmas. I definitely recommend that you do the Big Night Out. It's the best deal. You get a Cheese Course, a salad, the main entree and then dessert (the best). Have fun! |
I do the big night out also, I don't recommend getting the oil for the main entree because it tends to splatter a bit and you come home smelling of it. If you sign up for their mailing list they send you a birthday coupon for a free dessert fondue. |
It was awesome! We went for our son's birthday.....We loved, loved, loved the desert! You get alot of choices & if you can get their menu ahead of time it would help!!! Have a great time!:D |
I've been there. It's very expensive! Spent over 120 dollars for 2 people. You have to cook your own food in a broth or oil. We did the broth that had garlic in it. The chocolate is the best part of the food oh and make sure to order a yen/yang for drinking! I will go again, but only for dessert not food. |
I love The Melting Pot! :) We always do the big night out. Try not to fill up on the cheese fondue because you'll be stuffed before the main entree and dessert!! In all honestly it is all good... :) Oooh and try the Love Martini... it is the best! |
I've wanted to try that place for awhile but I don't think we have one! |
It is a wonderful resturant. Very, very expensive. My advice: skip the main course if $ is a concern. You get so much food in the appetizers and desserts you really don't need the entree! But, if it's a special occassion and you don't care about how much you spend....it's sooo good! |
My husband and I went there a couple of years ago and it was great! They give you plenty to eat. Part of the meal (at least the one we chose) is dessert but we were so full we couldn't eat any so they gave us a coupon to return for a free one. We never made it back only because they're in Seattle and we don't get to Seattle very often. I would love to go back again. I hope you have a wonderful time:) |
Okay, I guess that I'm the only one that didn't like The Melting Pot. But, alas...when we went there for the first time about a year ago I was completely disappointed. I thought that it was over priced for both the food and ambiance and substandard in quality. It is a very family booth style setting, which didn't lend itself to a romantic dinner out. The food was mediocre and the service was that of a large chain restaurant. Of course these are just my thoughts, but if I'm going out for an evening of pampering with my spouse I would like the food to be tempting, the atmosphere elegant and the wait staff on point. Now, that's my idea of an anniversary dinner out! |
I've been to several of the Melting Pot restaurants--some are more geared to families than romantic evenings out--that being said most of them have more private, romantic areas if you make your request known when you make your reservations. Also, I agree--go with the cheese appetitizer and the chocolate desert and the ying/yang martini!!! Have a great anniversary. |
Thanks everyone for the great input. I looked at the menu online and they are having a Caribbean themed "Big Night Out" so I think we are going to try that. The desserts sound the best. I am definitely having a ying yang martini it sounds so yummy!:dribble: |
