Memorial Day... 3 Attachment(s) With the holiday weekend coming up I just wanted to take a minute to salute all of the fallen soldiers and their families for the greatest gift of all - our FREEDOM! Enjoy but remember... |
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y16...agon/usa17.gifThank you so much for the thoughtful thread. We owe so much that have made the ultimate sacrifice for us. |
My 83 y old daddy is a wounded and decorated WWII vet. TG he is still with us and doing well. I also have a nephew in Iraq...we worry and pray for him and his family everyday....as well as all the others that are there, for us. I am one of those who still puts my hand over my heart when the flag passes and when the pledge is recited. I do it for all of the men and women who gave their lives for all of us who live in the land of the free, and the home of the brave. I salute you all....and thank you deeply. |
AMEN to all of that!! We need to thank all our soldiers, the ones with us and the ones that are with us in our hearts!! So thank you to all soldiers, without you we wouldnt be where we are today!! |
Thank you to all those who have sacrified for our great Country. I would like to especially thank my father, a 90 y/o WWII vet; my husband, a Viet Nam vet; and my nephew, a Gulf War vet. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Memorial Day Week-end. :) |

:smileyfla:smileyfla:smileyfla:smileyfla:smileyfla :smileyfla:smileyfla:smileyfla:smileyfla:smileyfla Thanks Jenn - I really thought there would be a better response to this and was looking forward to seeing everyone else say a few words. I was hoping that people would really remember why and what we're honoring this weekend - not that it's just a holiday. |
:smileyfla I not only want to thank all the serviceman who have given their lives for our country, but the serviceman now defending our country. A special thanks to the wives of our military men who are sometimes overlooked in what they contribute. |

This morning I watched a Memorial Day Tribute to all our military that I had recorded last night. It was very moving. My biological father served in WWII and he landed on the beach at Normandy. I found out when I was 18 that he later had committed suicide after getting out of the military. My father that adopted me at age 5 was in the Navy for 22 years, he died at age 57 from cancer. I want to give thanks to all those who served and gave their lives so we can have the freedoms we enjoy today. I want to thank all of those soldiers that serve today during this time of a different type of war. I also want to thank the wives of those solders also because I know how hard it is on them. My prayers go out to all on this Memorial Day. My God bless and protect all of you. |
