Very important to all the ladies MUST READ!!!!!!!!! One of my best and closest friends is a cop. He just emailed me this. This is something that is going on all over the country. Please read through it. He recieved it in his work email. He is wisconsin state trooper. This is serious. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ A friend stopped at a pay-at-the-pump gas station to get gas. Once she filled her gas tank and after paying at the pump and starting to leave, the voice of the attendant inside came over the speaker. He told her that something happened with her card and that she needed to come inside to pay. The lady was confused because the transaction showed complete and approved. She relayed that to him and was getting ready to leave but the attendant, once again, urged her to come in to pay or there'd be trouble. She proceeded to go inside and started arguing with the attendant about his threat. He told her to calm down and listen carefully: He said that while she was pumping gas, a guy slipped into the back seat of her car on the other side and the attendant had already called the police. She became frightened and looked out in time to see her car door open and the guy slip out. The report is that the new gang initiation thing is to bring back a woman and/or her car. One way they are doing this is crawling under women's cars while they're pumping gas or at grocery stores in the nighttime. The other way is slipping into unattended cars and kidnapping the women. Please pass this on to other women, young and old alike. Be extra careful going to and from your car at at night. If all possible dont go alone. This is real!! The message: 1. ALWAYS lock your car doors, even if you're gone for just a second! 2. Check underneath your car when approaching it for reentry, and check in the back before getting in. 3. Always be aware of your surroundings and of other individuals in your general vicinity, particularly at night! Send this to everyone so your friends can take precaution. AND GUYS...YOU TELL ANY WOMEN YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS Thanks, Barbara Baker, Secretary Directorate of Training U.S. Military Police |
Yes! Please do everyone. You never know what kind of neighborhood you're in or what kind of people are close to you. I get very paranoid at gas stations and never stop by one after 8 or 9PM when the sun isn't out. I'm such a paranoid freak. If it's crucial enough to stop by, I am talking on the phone with my boyfriend from the time I get out of the car to the time I get in just to feel safer. Thanks for sharing! |
Thanks for sharing that is food for thought!!! |
The best part of living in NJ.. It is against the law to pump your own gas... Go figure! And it's the same price or less than our neighboring states who have to pump their own gas. In other states when I pull up to a gas station that doesn't have Full Service I just drive off because I don't know how to work the pumps and get embarrassed! :embarasse |

thanks i sent it out to a couple people ! |
OMG, Thanks I will let my sister's know. That is so scary. |
While you can never be wrong in being safe, locking your doors, and being careful of your surroundings, this particular story is probably an urban legend: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/madmen/backseat.asp |
I thought that too when he sent it to me but figured that I would post it anyway since most of us are women and I dont want to see anything happen to anyone. :) :) |
Wow, that is scary....but some of you are so lucky not to have to pump your own gas! Michigan needs to think about that! |
That is scary! Thank you for the information, I will pass it along to all the women I know. Thanks again |
Thanks for sharing, Makes us a little more aware of the dangers that are out there. Be safe ladies. |
Damn, some people need some serious help! |

I received this same email and warning a few years back. Infact it was on a tv show about urban legends as well. I still agree though you can never be to safe now a days and hopefully this warning does make everyone think twice about locking your car doors. It only takes a second for someone to sneak into a car. I know since i received that exact email i always lock my car doors and double check my back seats before getting into my car. |
what's sad is that wether or not it's an urban legend IT DOES HAPPEN!especially if your car is tinted. your not safe at all nowadays. |

The car that I have now is the very first 4 door that I have had. I am always thankful that the doors lock automatically and I have the child safety locks on at all time so in order to unlock the back doors I have to push the button. Things like this creep me out. |

Urban legend. Regardless, please be careful in any situation. |
Thanks for posting! Something very similar happened to my mom's close friend, Karen. She parked her car in the parking lot of Kings Plaza (a Brooklyn mall) and went shopping. So after a few hours she returned to her car to leave. When she got to the toll booth and handed $10 to the clerk, he FORCEFULLY told her that the money was counterfeit and to step out of her vehicle. She argued with him at first, but because he was very forceful and threatened to call security she got out. As she did, a man opened a door from the backseat of her car and RAN. The clerk had seen this creep crouching low in her backseat. He probably saved her life! Who knows if this creep was going to mug, rape and/or kill her. Her husband was SO thankful (as was she) and to this day, they’re still very good friends with that clerk. This is going back about 6 years ago. Everyone (but especially women) need to be cautious before they get into their car. Maybe I’m paranoid after 9/11 and all these bombings (especially because I work in Manhattan and take the train everyday) but I carry pepper spray and a large box cutter in my purse AT ALL TIMES. I also have a LOUD LOUD LOUD whistle. This whistle is not just your average whistle. It’s EXTREMELY loud and you’re supposed to use it while you’re running if you are being attacked. My husband also enrolled the both of us into martial arts classes because he wants me to know some basic moves to defend myself. We use to take Judo but now we are taking Tae Kwon Do lessons. |
Sometime ago in Indiana I heard on the news how a woman walked out of the mall to her car. When she got to it there was a gang member hiding under her car that cut her legs when she got to the door of her vehicle to try to slow her down so he could kidnap her. Luckily, she got away. The news reported that it was an initiation into the gang to kidnap a woman. Ever since I heard this I def check the bed of my truck and get into my car as fast as I can. |
Thanks for posting this Kelly. I'm gonna sit my daughter down and make her read it! |
No one can fit under a car and slash your achilles. I think these things are sent out by the government to make everyone afraid. It seems like their biggest goal as of late. |
|
I received that email last year and it scared me to death. I am much more careful now than I was then. Thanks for the post. I read the story again all the way through just as a reminder! |
Oh my gosh, I'm sitting here having a heart attach, My 18 yr old daughter will be leaving for college in about 2 weeks and she is someone who I think can be easily fooled or taken advantage of. This kind of stuff freaks me out.!! Even if its not true, its still real scary. |
