Whoohoo.....my hibiscus bloomed....isn't it pretty 2 Attachment(s) Sorry Im so darn pround of this plant. Everyone told me that I would never get this thing to bloom but....HAHA....I did. It has tons of flowers ready to open too. I also have another hibiscus but its a different color and its ready to bloom too. Im so proud I had to share how pretty the flowers are. :) :) :) |
Thats pretty! I love hibiscus! |
It's beautiful!! |
How pretty! I have four of those, I love 'em!! Congrats on the beautiful blooms!! |
Very pretty! It must be nice to have a green thumb, I can't grow anything. I can kill a plant that's already dead! I tell people "I can kill dead things". It's true. A friend gave me a gorgeous Boston fern, I rebuked her telling her she knew I couldn't grow anything green. But, she replies, it's a 'preserved fern', it's already dead! I was so happy! In about a month I notice this brown stuff on my coffee table under the plant, I look up and the darn thing is all stiff and brown - DEAD! Oh well. I've even had air ferns dry up and die on me! Thank God I can grow dogs! :p |

Yeah I am sure that there are things that I cant do. I just have to try everything at least once. |
Note: Keep Yorkie away!! Bean loves to dig, especially my favorite plants. Job well done!! |
If these make seeds, save 'em. Plant about half of them right back where the others were but don't pull up all of the plants til they are totally brown. Plant the other half in March or so but let them stay in a cool dry place over winter. I have regular old fashioned holly hocks; I have different hibiscus colors whose blooms are big as lunch plates. Then, I have some kick-ass growers-Rose of Sharon- that grow like the devil is on their tails. I started white ones with 3 pieces I cut from the creek bank where my sis lived at the time of her death. A friend broght some down from her homeplace in PA. I have a minimum of 500 plants that are gonna have to be pulled up and thrown away this fall. They make great hedges and noise barriers. I would try to figger out how to send some if anyone wants some. My hubby ships his orchids and antique magic stuff so it cannot be too hard figger how to do it.. |
Thanks for the info. Any idea if these things will tolerate the cold winters in Wisconsin?? I plant all the plants that I want to keep alive and dog pee free in the front of my house where the dogs NEVER go. Recon is famous for peeing all over my plants. He killed about $300 worth the hostas. GRRR so I learned my lesson. Sometimes when i go places I always look at how different houses have thier landscaping out front and the ones that really catch my eye are the ones with variety. SO that is pretty much why I have chosen the plants I have for the front of my house. Plus I really enjoy gardening. I figure I might as well plant things that other people will enjoy looking at as much as me. |
yay for you!!!!! they are very pretty. i agree with susan is there anything you can't do? |

Pretty flowers! I'm very jealous as I could also probably kill something that's already dead! |
