My husband and I were anticipating that our stimulus check would be direct deposited on Friday, May 9th. Nothing. After doing a LOT of searching today, I found out the following information...

If you paid with Turbo Tax and opted to have your software fee taken out of your refund, you're getting a paper check in the mail. The IRS is just now realizing this as well.

Oh well, at least there's still hope we'll get something.....in JULY! :(

I understand. We won't get ours until right before you do. Well, at least we will get a check. That's better news than some are hearing.

just out of curiosity has anyone got their direct deposit that was supposed to be in on the 9th? Ours was supposed to be but i haven't seen it in there yet? just wondering whats going on?

We didn't hear anything either way. Does that mean it's good news and we are getting a check (or) does it mean they just didn't send a letter out yet? Another words would we know already that we did not qualify? We had a tax guy do it but honestly it's so new I don't think he was even sure. Our check should be mailed sometime end of may early june. Ours was scheduled for the 9th and it showed up in our account on the 7th. A friend of mine at work though has still not seen her's and it was supposed to be on the 9th. I just asked her if she filed with Turbo Tax and she said no. She hasn't figured out what the delay is. Can someone post a link to a site that might answer her questions?? Thanks!!

Hubby was supposed to get his on the 9th but nothing yet. I checked the calculator and it says he is eligible for the full amount..so I guess it's just a waiting game now.

I know that if you did your taxes through a preparation place (H&R block, Jackson Hewitt etc) and had them take their fees out of your refund (you did not pay them right then and there) you will be getting a paper check. The only way you will get a direct deposit is if you paid all the fees to prepare your taxes upfront, and if you had the check DD. Hope this helps.

hmm that is weird. did you call the IRS to find out what the hold up is?

I keep meaning to pull out his return to get the info that is needed for the automated number. I will do that tonight.

Hubby is self-employed so when he does his returns they look hard at it...lol. That might be why we are getting a hold up here.
