When I copied it on here, it only copied the text, but it looks EXACTLY like an email from ebay! When I clicked on Respond Now, my internet gave me an alert that it is a spam/ phishing email. So now they are trying to get your info in a much sneakier way!! I'm pretty good at catching spams, but this one got me!! Good thing my internet caught it!! a eBay sent this message. Are you kidding me? That looks so realistic:eek: |
First off the seller would not have your email and second, this is not how ebay is run. I'd report it. |
If you get one of those emails, you are suppose to go to your ebay account and check your inbox messages, if its not in there then its a spoof and you should report it. I would also put out an alert with your bank and paypal because usualy when you click on those bogus emails, they try to get into your bank account. I had that happen to me, someone used my information and was trying to plug in numbers at an atm machine to get my money without having my card. |

i have gotten fake messages from that same username ! forward it to ebay |
Heads up...go to your my ebay page and change your email notice settings to HTML only. When you receive a legitimate email from ebay it will contain only text...no logos. Spammers have no idea how your preferences are set. This setting affects no other emails. Btw, on those particular spoof emails...count the number of numbers in the auction listing...cause I betcha it is not 12...which is the amount in a real listing. Also never click any link in one of those either...it's a good way to pick up spyware. |
I get those all the time. Just ignore anything that comes to your inbox & log in directly to your ebay account to view any messages. I also check the "hide my email address from buyers" block when corresponding, as well, just to be extra safe. |
