My wedding song was... From This Moment, by Shania Twain...Its a beautiful song, we didnt pick it though, I got married in Jamaica, so they chose it for us...Now everytime I hear it I throw up!! JK!!! :) Good Luck choosing a song, there are SOOO many beautiful ones out there...If I ever get married again, I want my wedding song to be MusicBox by Mariah Carey...OMG everytime I hear that song I get all weepy :( |

villette - I have had Whoop There It Is! Stuck in my head for the last 2 weeks. No kidding. LOL I hate cheesy wedding songs. I am going to elope one day. If I married the person I want to marry, my wedding song would be Sweet Caroline by Neal Diamond for personal reasons (funny) but I really like Moondance by Van Morrison. Neither of them are cheesy IMO. |
I like this old one "Your Song" By Elton John You don't hear it all that much anymore, I guess I'm showing my age... Sorry!! |
Bryan also suggested to watch the movie "The Wedding Singer" with Adam Sandler. More seriously, if you can sing a good range, a friend of mine walked down the aisle to Enya and it was absolutely gorgeous! You wouldn't think it would be, but when it got put together it was perfect! I kept thinking about Disney movies for some reason...like "So This is Love" or something like that...but I'm kinda a dork. I love the Phil Collins songs on Tarzan! |

When I got married I had 3 harpists playing before, during, and after the ceremony. Since I had 2 (twins) junior bridesmaids and a junior maid of honor I wanted something played that the kids could cue in on and not miss their turn to walk. For the youngest kids the harpists played "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and for the junior maid they played "Beauty and the Beast". The adult attendants walked during Faith Hill's just "Breathe". I walked to the "Trumpet Voluntary" The juvenile songs kept the wedding light but have great meaning to me now when I hear them. ie Somewhere over the rainbow dreams really do come true. I can't remember the Beauty and the Beast words but it is something like, "a tale as old as time". Myy husband and entrage walked on a song from Enya. I do not know the words but my husband liked it soooooooo. And you know what, even songs like the other member posted "Paradise" most people don't have a clue as to the words and meanings of the songs. So have fun and just choose something that would be special to the wedding couple. My husband had the singer at our reception sing "My Girl" and we danced to it, now how corny is that? sign me happily married to my best friend. |

okay good! what kind of music do you like? country, soft rock, etc...just trying to get an idea of what kind of music you like. also will you be singing this to your fiance or for everyone? |
We had the song "Here, There and Everywhere" by the Beatles, it's easy to sing, different and appropriate. The lyrics are so beautiful: I'll try to write some of the words. Here, making each day of the year, knowing together that love never dies, watching your eyes and knowing you're always there. Wish I could remember more, it's a lovely song but this was in the 70's and the memory ain't what it was! |

I always hear songs and think " that would be a great wedding song" BUT of course I can't think of any right now, I have a list at home (ANAL) ! I'll have to find it. |

i'd be singing it to everyone..but i guess it would be directed to my best friend and her fiance...since it is their wedding... it really doesnt matter what kinda music it is! Brooke- Thanks for that site!!!! |
Sorry.....nothing springs to mind that hasn't been sung at weddings a million times already........but i just wanted to say that whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll do a great job and it will be beautiful. :) |
Just heard this - Annie's Song by John Denver: I'll walk in the rain by your side, I'll cling to the warmth of your hand, I'll do anything to keep you satisfied, I'll love you more than anybody can. CHORUS: And the wind will whisper your name to me, little birds will sing along in time, and leaves will bow down when you walk by, and morning bells will chime. I'll be there when you're feeling down, to kiss away the tears when you cry, I'll share with you all the happiness I've found, a reflection of the love in your eyes. Chorus again. |
My maid of honor sang "when you say nothing at all" by allison kraus at my wedding. I also had "All I ask" from phantom of the opera sang. I have a huge book of wedding songs at my house from my wedding I can get it tonight and right some down I like. There's also a beautiful song from Moulin Rouge soundtrack called "Come what may". "Ain't No Mountain high enough" kinda upbeat, but good words. My husband and I's first dance was to "brown eyed girl"; "Bless this Broken Road" Rascall flatts; |

Here making each day of the year Changing my life with a wave of her hand Nobody can deny that there's something there. There, knowing that love is to share Each of us thinking how good it can be Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there I want her everywhere And if she's beside me I know I need never care But to love her is to need her everywhere Here, there and everywhere....here there and everywhere.... :D |
I think that Enya song would be great. It was my cousin and her husband's song and I nearly cried. I think it's By Your Side or something. It's beautiful. There's also a beautful Celine Dion song called Then You Look at Me. One of the lines is "Then you look at me and I always see what I have been searching for. I'm lost as can be then you look at me and I am not lost anymore." Other than that I'm no help. Good luck and let us know what you decide on. |
