Sissy's Song So Special To Me
 
This has been a bad week for me, my best friend Sissy passed away 9 years ago April 27, 1999 at age 37 from Cervical Cancer, the day she found out she had it she called me and said "Lee, I'm calling you because I love you and I want to ask you to go get a checkup as I've just found out I've got Cervical Cancer and hadn't had a check up in years" Well by the time they found it she only had a few months left, I had my last Daughter in Dec 89' and took her for Sissy to see for the 1st time a few days before she passed away, I'll never forget how frail & fragile she looked and she said she was ashamed of the way she looked, I told her your beautiful no matter what Sissy. She said only you Lee would say that to me...But in my eyes she was and still is beautiful.

Well Monday Evening I was searching CMT for Allen Jackson Songs and came across this one, I saw the title & I thought Sissy's Song, so I listened to it....

My heart sank as I heard it...It was Sissy made over, she had 2 small sons (Jason & Jeffery) at the time of her death...She was the sweetest lady I've ever known, she had the most beautiful longest natural silver hair that you ever laid eyes on, always so happy and cheerful, she had a rotten side to her tho. She was a treasure that will never be replaced in my heart. She is in my memory as I never had a photo of her. I wish I did. Please say a prayer this week for her young sons as I know it must be hard on them since she's gone.

She was my ex husbands cousin by marriage and our friendship was 10 years long in real life but for a lifetime in my heart. Lee, I know how you must be hurting. :cry: I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. I can tell you loved her dearly. I will say a prayer for her young sons. I hope you get to feeling better. :hug:

That is so sad. She was way to young. I can't imagine how hard it is to leave young children behind. Thinking of you at this sad time.

Lee, sending you a great big hug. The song made me cry, too. My Sissy is named after my Aunt Sis who passed away three years ago suddenly at the age of 56. She was very much my favorite person in whole world from as far back as I have memories. I spoke with her at least once a day every single day, including vacations. She was my best friend and my heart and it killed me when she left. Thank you for sharing.

Girls I love U so much, U mean the world to me...I love that song, it just touched me so much and even more when Allen Jackson said why he wrote it...U talk about bawling...I did, I know my Sissy is in a better place now and looking down on us...Oh she use to collect Barbie dolls had tons of them...So everytime I see a Barbie of any kind she's there in my thoughts even if I see them on TV.
