paparben free cleanser To those of you smart ladies who watch for parabens, what do you use for your facial cleanser? I think I have rid my home of parabens with the exception of mine and my daughter's facial cleansers. I bought Alba pineapple enzyme cleanser yesterday. I have a paraben free Alba lotion so I just did a super quick ingredient scan assuming I was safe. Used it last night- loved it. Took a better look at the ingredients this morning and surprise! Paraben! I really don't want to spend a fortune trying a million new cleansers and I thought, ah ha! A YTer is sure to have the answer. Here's what I'm looking for; I'm 35, fairly normal skin, a little oily in the summer and I like a foaming cleanser (yeah I know, you don't need lather to clean but I'm addicted). It doesn't have to do anything but cleanse my skin well without stripping it- don't require vitamins or any other bells and whistles in my cleanser but don't mind them either. Sulfate free and of course paraben free. I also prefer it to be something you can pick up at the health food store or that markets to spas- I don't like to have to special order staples. Any ideas?:) |
srry i may sound dumb but what is paraben? I heard my bro's girl talking about it in mascara or something like that. Have you tried using natural ingredients like honey? |
burt's bees is paraben free... also alba organics they have cleansers, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, and more. whole foods, the nugget, target, and longs drugs have those brands :) |

How about Organic Skin Care, Private Label Skin Care, Organic Gel Cleanser, Paraben Free, Sulfate Free, Wholesale Mineral Makeup Did you watch oprah about going green on earth day? |
|
Would the ingredient list actually state they have paparben in them? I have NO IDEA...what this is and have never heard about it.:confused: Reason I ask is I just bought a new skin line by Mario Badescu and did not know to check for this. |

LOL, to clarify, something before the paraben part. |
Nikki, this link evaluates health and beauty products for chemicals and gives them ratings for both adults and babies.... Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Database |
I have been using OCM (oil cleansing method) for about 2 1/2 months now and I won't use anything else now. I'm 46 and my skin has never looked better. It's a combo of Castor Oil & EVOO and my particular mix is 75 CO & 25 EVOO. I moisturize after with a couple drops of Greepseed oil. I tried jojoba oil-- but GS works better in my case. Talk about cheap and I am telling you, I glow. Even first thing when I wake. I feel 19 again.:D |

I am still doing that too and I have to say I use some other products since I tend to still get some acne and have very oily skin but I LOVE it too. At first I felt it was too oily but now my skin is so used to it and it leaves it feeling tight and fresh.:thumbup: |

I tend to be more oily, so upping the CO works better as does the GS to moisturize as it has a slight astringent property to it. I also started making my own body butter. Saving a ton of money and I get to put as much of exactly what I like in it. I use the following in it: Shea, mango & cocoa butters coconut, jojoba, grape seed, almond, evening primrose, tamanu, hemp oils & a secret sensual smelling essential oil blend. Soooooooo yummy and my skin loves it. I've always had scaly legs but NO more! |

Lately, we're gone green in my house so I can share with you a few products I've tried and liked... Jurlique - (Google it) is wonderful (Plant based) Burt's Bee - I found it affordable [Target/CVS] and paraben/sulfate free Origins Organic - Fantastic! Terressentials - Lovely but stong scented (essential oils) |

I love Burt's Bees but not a fan of the face products other than the fab clay mask. I will definitely look into Jurlique and Terressentials though. I used to use Origins and didn't know about the organic line. Thanks for the tips! |

Let me see if I can find an online retailer or even ebay that carries it for you... brb. |
Here's a link to some choices. I love amazon--I get almost everything from that site!:thumbup: Nikki, honestly, I've tried sooo many dif organic/natural products and found this company to be amazing. Atleast for their foaming face wash and baby bath line. Since I shop at Whole Foods [they dont carry Jurlique], I get an enormous selection of natural products--Just have to read them labels real carefully as some do contain 'Paraben preservatives'--not okay with us! :thumbdown Good luck, PM me for anything. :) Amazon.com: jurlique |

There aren't any places for me to buy it locally and I really hate to have to order staples. I'm a huge fan of online shopping, just not for basics. You are so sweet though!:) |
