Mother's Day-What are you doing??
 
Looking for ideas for Mother's day. What are you doing for your mother? As a mother, what are you hoping for? My mom and sister will be here for mothers day and I'm so excited, just want to have a perfect day...brunch and something...

Please do share!

For Mother's Day my daughter, SIL and 2 older grandkiddies (6 & 9) are going to a Detroit Tigers/NY Yankees B-Ball game in Detroit. The youngest grand-d (4) is staying with us & we are going to my sister's house to celebrate her B-Day the 11th. We lost our mom in 2005 so we celebrate with each other on Mother's Day now. We've always celebrated her birthday on Mother's Day & it's not often that it is on the same day.

That's beautiful that you guys get together like that every year in her memory.

What am I doing? Motherly things, like working, cleaning, cooking, laundry. Every day is Mother's Day at my house:D.

This year for Mother's Day I will be on vacation in Florida with my Dad, his new wife, my sister, her husband, my neice, and my boyfriend. My Dad always picks the worst weekends for our family vacations, one year he took my sister and I to England on my sister's first wedding anniversary. Anyway, so I won't be home to celebrate with my mom, but I'm helping her pay to get new hardwood floors installed into her family room.

Lucy (when she was a younger pup) ate a hole in her carpet. So it's the least I can do.

Well this year Mother's Day falls on my birthday and my oldest Grandson's
Chris, who will be 19yrs old. We share the same date 11th of May. I really no longer have birthday's I give them all to him.:p
My daughter will have a BBQ with the whole
family. Looking forward to it. I hope the weather stays as nice as
it's been here in NY>

Oh hey Carol...my son's birthday is also the 11th. Too cool. I am giving him a little party on the 10th so he can spend the day with our friends kids and not interrupt anyone's mothers day celebration.

I graduate from college on May 10th, so I told mom that was her present :D

We'll probably go out to a nice dinner after church or something like that.

I will be working! Big money day for Red Lobster! I then will probably call my dad so that he can tell my mom happy moms day...shes going deaf so cant talk on phone

Sounds like there are some lovely things going on here! I made reservations at this great little restaurant, which is beach front with beautiful views.

"Join us for a special brunch buffet featuring an array of fresh seafood including poached prawns, clams, mussels, wild salmon and crab legs, carved roast beef, eggs benedict, bacon, sausages, and more for mothers day brunch."

You guys have my brain turning for ideas later in the day...

I still wanna hear from people....!

Every once in a while I'll come up with something I remember from my childhood and share it with my mother. She is amazed that I would remember certain things. It makes her happy.

For Mother's Day last year I had kept a journal with me when things would come to mind and made her a small book and titled it "I Remember". I swear it went all the way back to four years old when she would hold my red stockings in front of the gas heater to warm them up before helping me put them on..things like that. Climbing into bed with her when I was afraid. She is old now with Parkinsons and Diabetes, remembering happy times gives her so much pleasure.

Mom said it was the best gift she had ever gotten...but now I have to beat that this year!;)

What a wonderful idea. Your mom is very lucky to have such a thoughtful daughter. She should be so proud:).
