I know, I'm always trying to find "the laundry soap" that smells good. :) I think we get used to our own smells we don't notice. My daughter always says my house smells like dogs and pp from the puppy :( but I don't notice it. I hope others don't think my house smells that way. :(

I have smelly things all over.

My mother in law uses strong smelling laundry detergents and it's what her house smells like too and anything that comes out of it.. Now i am the opposite i don't like to smell anything so i use unscented things and I always wash anything she sends home with us because i can't stand the strong smell of soap. I have a lavendar linen spray that my kids love and say it relaxes them, I spray it in their rooms and on their bedding sometimes.

we burn tarts and just use cleaning products the oils give my dh migraines. I have the fear of my house smelling like dogs

I know exactly what you mean. I use the glade plug ins. I have them all over the house and I also have some of the reed diffusers. I get mine at Pier 1. I like the ember scent.

I make my own freebreeze, I use scented oils and warm water. I just mist it every few days.
I'm also a candle freak! I keep Yankee Candle in business lol

I LOVE that smell too! I have lots of the dried Eucalyptus around the house and it is as close to that craft store smell I can get!

I also clean my house with Mrs. Meyers stuff....its all natural and smells GOOOOOD, so my house smells good after.

Go to Bath & Body works and buy wallflowers. They plug in and last about 6 weeks. they have all different scents. I buy Sensual Amber and its the bomb! im a psycho about smells and have a hyper sensivite nose so its REALLY important to me that my place always smells good. trust me... wall flowers. I got my best friend, Mom & sister all HOOKED. on that stuff.

WALLFLOWERS!!!!!:D

I use Yankee Candle tarts during the day and Yankee candles at night. I bet your house does have it's own scent but you're too used to it to smell it. I love coming home after being out of town for a while. It's the only time I really 'smell' my house and it's so nice, like yep, I'm home. Same with your laundry detergent. You just can't smell your own after a while. I love Tide lavender and vanilla but I have to switch it up because by the end of one bottle I can't smell it any more.

I have a lampe berger that my Mother gave me for Christmas one year. It uses a stone as a wick and you can buy different fragrances for it.

I bought another one online, and buy the scents a couple of times a year.

They're a little steep, but you only burn it for about 20 minutes at a time so it lasts a long time.

I'm crazy, I know....but I just want a nice smelly house and clothing...we use Gain for the laundry....we don't have carpet (anywhere), but steam mop the floors.......argh....I NEED HELP!:biggrin:
You could ask your friends what they use to clean with and what they use to wash their clothes in. Also ask if they use dryer sheets and if so what kind. Do they also have pets/dogs? Do they have carpet or wood floors. Is their sofa and chairs new or fairly new. There is a lot of facters to determine why their home and clothes smell nice.

Jenn, you are too funny! Well, since I'm spring cleaning right now, this really has me laughing. :p I love walking into a home and having it smell so good. :D I buy tons and tons of plug ins. Mostly from Bath and Body works or just glade. I also like burning candles a lot. Recently I got into these oil things. I need to find you a link because I forget what their called. :cool: You don't plug them in or anything, they just smell good. :D I got a few from Target. Anyways, let me go find the link. :)
