I am so out of the loop...have no idea what the drama is, was or going to be. Of course then again, I am on a bit of meds that between my thyroid and the meds my memory is just about gone....hmmmm...so I hope I am never the one to start the drama.

I think that is a perfect term- drama hunters. Some people will find drama anywhere and I can only assume they are looking for it. I had no idea anything had happened until this very thread. I still don't know what happened and I don't care. I am grateful that YT is, for the most part, a happy and helpful board. I can't believe some of the amazing, outrageous generosity I have seen here. I think it is sad that some people continue to look for the bad amongst so much good. You can always find negativity if you're on the lookout for it.

I used to post FUNNY THREADS on here for people to have a laugh over, and yet it's mostly the drama stuff that got the posts and feedback.

I too am a member of multiple forums like 4 i think :rolleyes: and ALL start out drama free but as more and more women gather (and a few guys :p) it adds up...because we are ALL so different and thats what makes it fun! I think if so many think there is so much drama here then why log in?????? I log onto the forums I enjoy, and I dont waste my time bashing them as its senseless ...Thats why there is drama, mindless posts beating a dead horse....IMO too much time on your hands if thats all you can think to do.

The reason we are all here is because we are passionate about dogs/yorkies. Passion breeds strong opinions and, boy, do we all have stong opinions. Ultimately, We choose whichs threads to post on. Some are obviously drama hunters and others are a little less obvious, but I feel if you'd rather not get involved, don't post. So many women, there's always gonna be drama!!

I have to post this and no it's not to cause Drama, but to make people realize that people are staying away from the forums for this very reason. Good people, newbies like me that may not have enough courage to forge ahead into sometimes shark infested waters...

Highland Yorkies...I agree with you. I joined in 2005 and lurked while I was looking for my yorkie. The negativity and drama made me stay away and almost afraid to post anything. Getting over that now though I'm trying to stay away from all drama and take everything with a grain of salt.

When you get down to it, every breeder and old timer on this forum thinks their way is the best and too many people contradict each other and you can never find just a simple basic answer.

Will I do the things that "everyone" recommends probably not. I'm a rebel. My pup is coming home before she's 12 weeks, I'm going to feed straight kibble with a treat here and there, will I take her to the vet for shots every year no, every 2-3 yes, every time she sneezes, no.

I understand every aspect of how much a dog costs and what vet bills run as I have talked to every vet in my area in order to make an informed decision.

Too many breeders on here need to get over themselves, they are not always right just as every newbie is not always wrong. That is the main problems with this forum They are quick to tell you what you are doing wrong and never get around to telling you what you are doing is right.

Take care and look for the people around here that steer clear of the drama while trying to make some friends that share the same interest, that's what I'm trying to do. I wouldn't be writing this now if it didn't hit too close to home for me.

I think that with any open public forum you will have differences of opinions and people handle and react to it in different ways. I do think YT and the staff here have tried to make it a safe place for us all to come and share our love,compasion,experiances, freindships and advice with eachother. However there are some that like to stir the pot so to speak and we have to try to stay positive and try to focus on the good. YT has been a wonderful place to come and i for one am happy it's here, I have made great friends learned important life saving things and had a great time here. Yes there have been bad times but the good out weighs the bad and there are tremendously amazing and caring people here:) Lets focus on the good and try to forget the bad.:)

well I agree with you about certain breeders, Not all by any means....I too was a lil overwhelmed at first. My post was not about breeders tho. So I apologize if it came off that way but i dont think thats what this thread is about. I could be wrong. I was talking about drama in general and that if you dont like it here why post??? This forum saved Diggy's life at one time becasue o posted and a TY'er reached out to me and guided me thru what my breeder failed to do and OF COURSE it happened on a weekend when no vet was around :rolleyes: Look past the drama, admin and mods of most sites do a good job of moving threads to the proper forums. Pictures, health, emergencies, etc rarely have drama and are so fun to look at! They have a lot of life saving info on them and you can figure out which ones tend to have it and which ones don't. I hope YT is as helpful to you as it has been to me. I have enjoyed myself here and i hope you have the same experiance. :p Hopefully we can all make a lot of wonderful friends and help each other out! Thats what it should be all about :)

I wanted to add, that shortly after I came on here Otis had an elevated BAT and was acting weird. Several YT members offered their time and knowledge to help me understand what my options were and calmed me down. I'm am eternally grateful to these people. Yorkietalk is a wealth of knowledge just by searching and reading through past threads. You can learn so much without posting on a single thread. That was the most important thing to me....was learning. I read, and read, and read and learned so much. Thats why YT is so important to me.

Am I bad for thinking that this site would be REALLY boring if there wasn't ANY drama?

I know, I know! I mean, I don't go looking for it...or starting it. But I'm not going to pretend I don't like stating my opinion and debating! It's part of my personailty!

PS - This site is NOT that bad. It used to be MUCH worse. Its really good now. There are so many people here willing to help. We go through bad periods, but those only last a few days and then its back to normal. We're like a family - we can argue without holding grudges and hating each other. At least, that's how I see it. There are WAYYY more positive posts than negative posts anymore.

Wow...I haven't been on for a while because life gets in the way and I had to start limiting my computer time. For some reason my hubby was getting upset when he didn't have anything to eat and no clean clothes to wear to work...ha! It wasn't quite that bad but it was getting extreme. Anyway, it seems like when I left there was some sort of drama going on, I don't remember what it was about now, but now I hop on to check on everyone and lo & behold there's more drama being talked about. I have no idea what it's about this time, but if you want something w/ no negative vibes go check out the cute pics of everyone's babies. I was just looking and my goodness we have some beautiful doggies here! Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Personally the world wide web is full of other sites and I might visit them but there is no place like home ...YT. In every family there will be some heat but at the end of the day we are here for each other when it counts. I have learned a lot here and made some good friends and you guys have prayed with me when my heart hurt so bad from losing Lulu. For that alone there will be nothing or no one that will drive me from this place.

YT is special because we can share those differing opinions. For those that don't like it they can go else where. But let's be honest there is no such thing as a drama free place. I think in the very beginning when things are new people will tiptoe around each other and not say what they really want to say but eventually their true personality and opinions will surface once the place gets familiar to them.

Anyhow my fellow YTers love you all and enjoy your company when work is slow, if I have some downtime at home when not chasing a kid, cleaning, doing laundry, cooking or whatever else us mommies do. I will always cherish you all and this site.
