We need rain!!! We've got wildfires all around us...5 in all today. 3 were put out fairly quickly but 2 of them turned into huge, raging fires. People had to evactuate and they said on the news only one home has been lost to the fires so far. They called in the National Guard Black Hawk helicopters to dump water on the fires. One is fairly under control with the help of the helicopters, but another they figure will burn through the night and into tomorrow. They're bringing in National Guard bulldozers to plow down trees. That fire is so fierce it even jumped a river! We aren't in danger here, but there sure are a lot of people living in the outskirts of town where the fires are. It is SOOO dry here and we need rain something terrible. We may get thundershowers tomorrow. They say the only worry about that is the lightening. |
I'm in Florida and I can relate to your situation... We've been through extreme drought here and conditions with thunderstorms and lightning are very dangerous and prone to wildfires... Please stay safe!!! |
YOW ! Wildfires in ND ? wow Connie - i'd have thought it would be snow not fire ....I hope they get it under control fast |
Holy cow Connie... I had no idea that it was that dry in your neck of the woods, especially so early in the season. What happened to April showers ???? We actually had two brush fires in two different towns close by and it is due to the fact that the leaves on the trees fell very late last year and then we had a snow fall. So subsequently most everyone still has dry leaves on the ground. Hubby had to rent one of those big blowers to clear our property on Friday, because we feared the same thing .... brush fires. I hope you get rain soon. Should I have my little guys do a rain dance for ya? LOL |
Fires are so terrifying!! Plaese stay safe and sending prayers for lots of rain! |
You can come here and steal some of our rain! LOL Our roads were so flooded about a month ago it was getting scary. We're glad we are getting a little bit of sunshine now. :) |

The winds are still blowing like crazy here and I can see smoke, so the fire must still be burning. |

Aw, sorry I don't have any rain to send you. Even with over 100 inches of snow this winter, we are very dry here too. We have a burning ban on. I hope you get some needed rain tomorrow! |
PLease do not hesitate to have all of our rain over here in B.C!!! |
Connie - I'll add Rain and safety to my prayer list. Please stay safe! |
Connie I hope yoiu get the rain tomorrow. How close are you? |
Hey all...We are safe here. I don't worry so much when we live in town, but those poor people out of town. Now, from what I hear, three families have lost their homes. That was this morn, and there may be more by now. The big fire they finally got stopped yesterday started up again, plus the other big one was spreading like wildfire. If only the winds would go down and the rain would come. Thank goodness for the Nat'l guard and their black hawk helicopters. I don't see as much smoke now, so I'm hoping they are getting a lid on the fires! |
