So I found a Dog last night soo Last night My husband and I were taking our daughter on a walk and we saw this dog sitting in the middle of the road..so I went up to it. It was a female Pekignese and had stitches on it's leg, it was extremly friendly so I picked it up and we put it in the bottom basket of the stroller and walked around with it hoping to find the owner. No luck..so we decided that we would keep her at the house and try to find the owner. So this morning I let the dog out to go to the bathroom and It got out of the yard..so I walked around the neighborhood and eventually found her again. I took her to the vet to see if maybe she was microchipped and to ask about the stiches because they looked like they had been there for a long time. The vet said that the stiches had been there for a very long time to the point where skin started to grow over it..so he took the stiches out and did find a microchip. We called homeagain and the owner never put any info on it..there was only a missouri shelter number which didn't answer. So I put out my information at all the shelters and vets and the owner finally went to the shelter looking for her dog...so they called me and I brought the dog to her. I was soo upset at this lady for neglecting her dog! I told her that I had the stiches removed and she was like oh yeah I forgot all about that, and then I told her the microchip had no info and she said oooh I didn't know you had to register for that. I am happy that I found the owner, I just hope she takes better care of her now. |
Wow! she forgot her dog had stitches when you noticed them in like 2 minutes after seeing the dog? What an idiot! :( Im glad the dog was reunited with the owner but yeah I do hope she is more responsible with her pup. :) |
Hats off to you!!!!!!! I hope the owner takes care of her. |
That's awesome what you did! Even though I really don't think this lady deserves her dog back, but you couldn't have known (the dog could've been lose since she first got the stitches). Hopefully she'll take better care of her now! |
I bet she will turn up on your doorstep again! Thats how I got my maltese, Spike. He ran away and we found him, returned him and the next day he was back just sitting at the door pleading to come in. So he did and never went back!He was the best dog too. I had for 7 years until it was time for him to cross the rainbow bridge. Good luck and God bless! |
The dog was soooo cute! I do feel kinda bad about giving her back to the owner but the dog got soo excited when she saw her owner. The owner said that she just got loose yesterday. We have a horrible loose dog situation here...people are known to just let their dogs go...when I was out on the walk I saw 6 loose dogs :( |
What you did was awesome, but don't be surprised if yu dont run into that dog again:rolleyes: |
Awww. That was so great of you to take care of that little guy. Like you, I hope the owner takes better care of him. Our dogs love us even when we don't act in their best interests. |
Thank you so much for what you did. I know that if any of my dogs ever got loose I would want someone as kind as yourself to find them. God bless you.... |
That was so sweet of you to take her in and get her stitches out. |
How do you forget that your dog has stitches? Good for you for taking care of the little dog until the owner could be found. I really hope she takes better care of her. |
That poor little dog. I wonder what else she neglects to do for that little thing!! I'm so happy you were able to have the stitches removed anyway. Bless you for helping this baby. |
That was really nice what you did for that dog. :) I can't imagine anyone "forgetting" that their dogs stitches need taken out. :( Sounds like the dog loves it's owner. I only hope she takes better care of her. |
From what you said about the owner, maybe it would have been better for the dog had you not found her, but it was real nice of you take it to the vet, poor pup!! |
Thank you everyone for all of your kind words. I really hope that the owner of "Moochie" will take better care of her this time...she was sooo sweet and precious. |
