Horrible Tradgey in Texas!!! Please pray for this family!
 

This past Friday my friend and neighbor Maria was driving northbound on 183 with her little girl Angelica (5) home from Dallas. :eek: Out of no where a cement truck jumped the median and landed on top of her Expedition killing her and critically injuring little Angelica.

DALLAS -- A 5-year-old girl, Angelica Gamez, was treated for a head wound then released from Children's Medical Center in Dallas on Saturday after a cement truck overturned and flattened the vehicle her mother was driving, according to authorities.

The girl's mother, identified as Maria Angelica Gamez, 41, of Keller, died in the accident.

The accident occurred about 3 p.m. Friday when a cement truck traveling south on Texas 183 swerved to avoid a vehicle. The truck driver lost control of the vehicle, and the truck hit the median wall then flipped into the northbound lanes, striking a motorcyclist and landing on the SUV.

Texas 183 was closed at Interstate 35E in Dallas for several hours after the wreck but was open by 9 p.m., police said.

The motorcyclist, identified as Miguel Gutierrez, 34, was in a Dallas hospital Saturday listed in serious condition, police said. The cement truck driver, Edward Magallon, 31, was released from the hospital suffering with a hurt leg, police said.

Late Friday, police were still searching for the driver of the vehicle that caused the cement truck to swerve, said Sen. Cpl. Kevin Janse, a Dallas police spokesman.

I am so saddened by this....Marie was so young and had four beautiful children...our children have played many sunny days together! Maria just got her Real Estate license and was such a hard worker and such a good Mother. Who knew her life would be taken so early without warning.:(

I have four kiddos myself and boy let me tell ya if that was not a wake up call nothing else is. I am going to be a sweeter kinder person and much more forgiving. Most importantly not taking one single day for granted! I am so thankful for my family, friends and all of the sweet people I have met here on YT. :)

Tomorrow is Maria's funeral and I will be going ....this family needs lots of prayers. Please remember them tonight when you say yours!

OMG that is horrible! How sad for her children and entire family.

I am so sorry for this family. About 3 years ago an extremely talented young man I knew was killed in a very similar fashion. It is a heart breaking tragedy for families. I will pray for this little girl and the entire family.

What sad news :( My heart goes out to her family and friends (and neighbors!). Of all things, you'd think you would be safe in an excursion! It's a wake up call for me too, life is precious.

Very tragic. Praying for the friends and family and the poor little girl who lost her mother.

I just learned that Maria was alive for an hour after the accident...she was able to comfort little Angelica while they were cutting her out of the mangled suv. Maria's last words were I love you to her little girl. They were not able to get Maria her out of the wreckage in time due to the size and weight of the cement truck.

Ya'll this just rips my heart out for this family! Every time I leave my house I pass theirs and I am just at a loss for words.

What a terrible tragedy and it saddens me to hear this news. It's hard enough not knowing this family, but for you, it has to be so heart breaking. Hugs to you. I will pray for this poor family that now have to go on without their Mom, wife.

I have a lot of pent up emotion myself for a lot of family medical things we're going through. THIS post just caused me to burst into tears. What a horribly bittersweet ending to a mother's life. Right now, I just have no words, only prayers direct from my heart. I am praying for their entire family. Maria will look over them and give them all strength. And I hope she leaves them hundreds of pennies over the next several years. I also pray for you. You are so close - you will see their pain along with your own. I'm so sorry.

This was such a tragedy. My son is a fireman and paramedic in Irving and I hope he didn't have to make that call. I haven't talked to him but I do know that when children are involved it is horrible for them. My daughter-in-law said she always can tell when he comes home if there has been a child involved. So sad. Will pray for that family.

Thank you so much for the sweet words and for every ones prayers..I know God will comfort them as only he knows how. The funeral is at 2:00 tomorrow in Dallas. My little girl Kendall is friends with Brittany and has spent the night several times at their home. She told me today that she would like to go with me to the funeral to tell Mrs. Maria goodbye. Wow, how brave....children are like that so untainted and so loving. If we all could be like that!

I am just now seeing this. My heart is breaking, this is such a sad, horrible tragedy. Her husband and children are in my prayers, as well as for you.

I have watched that story unfold on TV. I am so sorry for you and your friends family.

We just got home from the funeral...a few of us that live on our street went together. The services were held at the Guadalupe Catholic Cathedral in Downtown Dallas. The service was beautiful of course very sad but so much love and support from family and friends. The majority of the service was in Spanish but no matter what language was spoken or the color of the people attending there was one Universal message. We found comfort in our faith that Maria is with her maker and we will see her again. Thank you for the prayers for this family...they will need support for many months to come. We plan preparing meals for the next couple of months...alternation days with families on our street as well as with families from the schools were all of our children attend. Little Angelica looked good that was a relief to see her sweet face!

I'm am so sorry for the family and friends of this poor woman and pray the little girl makes it through ok. What a horrible thing to have happened. Prayers headed their way.

Sad thing is, whomever caused the accident probably doesn't even realized that they caused an accident.
