I saved a dog today! Hi! I came upon a man chasing after a small dog. I stopped and asked if it was his and he said no. He asked if it was mine and I said no. He said he has seen lots of dogs get hit by cars on the street in our neighborhood. I decided to help save the dog. I stayed in my car so I could follow when it dashed long distances. There were probably 12 runners, walkers, dog walkers etc. trying to capture this dog. It dashed away and I followed it into a circle. I stopped the car and coaxed the dog over and it just jumped in my car. :) I think it was terrified with all the people chasing it. I hollared to all of the other dog lovers that I had the dog. I took it to the shelter and hope that the owner will look for it. I just had to share because my husband thinks I am silly to spend my time chasing after a dog I don't know :thumbdown. I know you all understand ;). |
I understand. I would have been thinking about the dog all night and wondering of an animal got it, or if it was hit by a car or if it was hungry. Good job!!! |
Good for you! I'm a sucker too! My friend lives in the outskirts of San Antonio and there are a lot of dogs that get dumped in that country area. We are always picking up friendly strays and finding them homes! |
You are a caring person and YAHOO! for doing the right thing. We need more people like you in this world. Thank you! |
I understand ,i would have done the same thing ,i cant stand to see a dog wondering around . |
Good for you. |
That's great! Way to go. |
I totally understand! What an angel you are :) |
Thanks! I knew you would all understand. I told my husband I was complaining about him on YT :p. He clarified that he thinks I did the right thing but doesn't think he would do that himself. I guess that's why he has me :D. |
Good job!!! Good thing the dog is safe now. :) I'm the same way. I'm still constantly reminded of a time when I was about 7 years old and I was with my dad in the car, and I saw this scragly old dog walking around. I begged my dad to pick him up, but he "didn't want some flea-bitten dog in [his] new car." Not 2 days later, I was at the convienience (sp) store, and I saw a flyer for a lost dog - "Jake" - the dog I had just seen. I don't know if they ever found him, but I still feel guilty. |
Hehe, I was ALWAYS stop if I see a stray dog. And my family makes fun of me for it, but CMON, I would want someone to be so kind as to do that if my dog ever got out. It would be tragic if it got hit by a car and you could have saved it. I'm sure whoever owns that dog is very thankful. Good job! |
I'm so glad you did .... It's a wonderful thing to take the time to save an animal that is lost and confused...... :heart to |
BRAVO!!!!!!good job:thumbup: |
I would have done the same... but then again, so would my husband! (Might be why we have 6 dogs... LOL!) |
You're a good person for doing that! :) I hope the owner gets him back! |
