North Texans Is everyone ok from the storm that went thru last night? |
Everything okay at your place? |
We have stuff blown all over but so far no real damage. Richard is out trying to clean up now. One good thing, we met a neighbor who came over looking for some of his horse barrels that had blown away. One was in our horse pasture. One of his sheds is in pieces all over the area...........and Cindy, part of the pigeon houses blew away:D |
Glad you are okay. We got hit by three different storms last night (what a night for everyone, those storm lines were fierce)! No real damage here, but just a few miles south of us...schools and businesses are closed. Golf ball to baseball size hail, etc. It was crazy! Today, we are under the flood warnings from all the rain! |
Our son in Plano just called and said they have major roof damage and their neighbor's tree fell and took off a bunch of their guttering. Spent 45 min. holed up in their interior bath. |
Oh my gosh, I heard of all the tornado's in TX and the midwest. :( I too hope everyone is safe from this bad weather. :lightning :rain: Glad to hear that you, Patty, Judy & Jenn are all ok. :) |
Sorry, 4doggiemama, I forgot to say that I'm glad your son is ok. We've had tornado warnings in PA and a few have touched down but nothing like you guys experience. |
i hope all the texans are okay! plano and carrollton got hit REALLY hard last night (especially around midway and frankfort - people said it looked like a war zone  )...some people here at work have missing roofs, fences, etc :( we just got lots of wind and rain - no damage to the house that i am aware of...but we are a few miles north of plano...the drive into work was exciting though (lots of tree limbs and miscellaneous debris in the road)...someone else said the lights on the tollway were out! sending prayers that everyone is safe and sound! |
I live in North Fort Worth close to Haslet, and we had very strong winds and rain. My trees in the front yard where bent over touching the ground, luckly they did not break. On the way to work this morning I notice a few industrial type warehouse on Blue Mound Road and 820 had roofs and walls missing and alot of debris laying around. |
We live in the Dallas/Metroplex and our neighborhood has been all over the news today, as they are estimating that it was one of the hardest hit by the storm. After walking out my door and through the blocks this morning I have to believe it to be true. We are so fortunate that there have not been massive injuries, as the visual is astounding! In the light of day as I look around I am stunned by our neighborhood, which on a normal day embodies the essence of groomed and now looks more like a war zone. Again, we are all fine and our only damage was property, which one can fix. We have a big backyard and our fence is pretty well destroyed. There are trees downed left and right, chimneys blown off, posts imbedded into homes, roofs gone, etc and the streets are abuzz with people trying to clear the roads and such. I'm not exaggerating when I say that LuLu, our Yorkie, woke us up from a complete sleep and warned us of the approaching storm. She started pacing and whining at least 5 minutes before the warning sirens started blasting. So, we were able to wake our daughter and get into our "safe room" in plenty of time. As we sat huddled together we could both feel and hear the storm around us and as it hit our house the entire structure began a long, loud, humming buzz that was unlike anything I can really explain with words. It was as if it were speaking between us and the storm outside. Eerie...and seemingly unnatural = very strange indeed! And today we remain grateful that we are well and that we remained safe. LuLu is of course getting extra smooches for her part in making sure that was the case! Gotta love our furbabies! |
Thank goodness you all are safe ..... |

Patty - I am VERY sorry to hear about the Pigeon Man's shed blowing away.... I KNOW how much you enjoyed looking out your front window and seeing that beautiful building. Sending hugs and prayers for all of you. |
