It makes me sad when people judge me or others without really getting to know me/them. Not many things come into the "I can't stand..."-category. When trying to think of things I really hate, I can only say that poor service, be it on the phone or face to face, is the number one thing I hate the most. I feel it is lack of knowledge in the service person - either of human beings or of service in generel. I have a right to be treated with decency and respect just like everyone else. On the other hand if a service person excuses his behaviour with having a bad day, I forgive them right away - we can all have a bad day and that's a-ok! I have been in service jobs most of my life and anyone with a service job should be proud to service others :) Wether it is opening doors, whiping buts or cleaning halls, it is all about making others more comfortable. |
Wow...I sure can relate to most of your most hated things. I also hate mosquitos...those little suckers are driving me crazy this summer. The city sprayed on Thursday and we had a couple of nice days...now they're back in full force! I hate it when I go to great pains to keep my yard nice and the neighbors let the weeds grow and go to seed...then the stinking wind blows and they end up in my yard! I have never seen so many weeds here and all I have to do is look at the neighbors to figure where they're coming from! I hate it when parents let their kids scream that high pitched scream in a public place. My kids tried that once and never did it again because I taught them not to. So many parents just let them scream and scream and they must be so used to it that it doesn't bother them anymore. One day in Walmart a kid was screaming...next thing his dad is asking him if he wanted a certain toy. I said, "That's nice...reward him for his bad behavior!" I've also told people they need to learn to control their child...they look at me as if I'm nutz. I'm just speaking for the rest of the people in the place that are getting a headache from that constant screeching! Ugggggh. Seems everywhere I go there's a screeching kid nearby! I hate it when I'm somewhere giving them my business and treated rudely or like they are doing me a favor by waiting on me. Some don't even greet me or say thank you. I have gotten so I say things such as, "Your friendliness overwhelms me," or if they don't say Thank You I will say, "Well THANK YOU??!! I have also started calling managers and reporting these people that act that way. Good grief...they are getting paid for doing that...the least they can do is smile and say hello. I would think they would be drilled on treating the customers with respect, but as long as they get away with it, there's nothing to stop them. A few months back I got a speeding ticket and took Maddie with me to the PD to pay it. I walked up to one of the windows and asked if this is where I pay my speeding ticket. The lady grabbed my ticket out of my hand, wrote me up a receipt...threw the receipt down in front of me and started to walk away. I was ticked so I said, "I bet it wasn't your personality that got you this job!" Then I said to Maddie, "Maybe I'm being punished for breaking the law." I was SOOO ticked! I love my vet, but hate one of their policies. If your dog gets sick, you can bet there will not be an opening for them to get in that day, but they will give you a work in appointment which costs $20 more than the regular appointment. It probably doesn't sound like much to some of you, but I pay all of Maddie's bills with no help from my husband and $39 a crack just to walk in the place can add up fast...especially when one has a sickly puppy like Maddie. I think they should leave some open times for sick dogs....no way can we say, "I need an appointment for 2 weeks from today because my dog will be sick!" I'm tempted to call there and say I'd like an appointment for Maddie for every day at 1:00 and I will call them each morning if she is not sick and I need to cancel it. Bet that would go over like a lead balloon! Well, as I said...I relate to most all of the other posts. Villette giving the one finger salute...I thought in bigger places you don't dare do that anymore for fear of being shot. You be careful!!! |
I hate sour milk.. I was craving chocolate milk yesterday so I made myself and huge glass and i chugged half the glass and as I stopped i noticed it tasted HORRIBLE... I made justin try it and as soon as it touched his mouth he spit it out.. LOL.. The milk was bad but the date said use by July 28!! Werid.. I seem to get alot of sour milk.. drives me crazy!! I also hate velvet.. I get the chills when i touch it.. That and chalk!! |
LOL Connie - I Said "Worthy" of the one finger salute - I really don't drive around pegging fingers at everyone though some days it sure would feel good ! You're right - here in Houston - I would be shot. |
LOL...Villette...I guess I read it wrong! I was picturing you driving around with your two little darlings with you and flipping off the crazy drivers! Now I can get that picture out of my mind and don't have to worry about you being shot. Regarding the one finger salute...I have a funny story. My husband had a heart attack a few years back and had an angiogram and then had to have another one later that day. I was without any support group because they had gone home, so I was sitting alone in the hospital lobby waiting for the angiogram to be over. In walks this guy...he was a weirdo that walked the streets...never wore a shirt...even in winter. He would do gestures to people as if he was boxing at them. He'd also stop traffic and try to intimidate people. So that day I was sitting at the hospital, in he walks...he sees me and gets this angry look on his face and walks over to me ranting and shouting and moving his hands as if he's boxing. I'm sitting there thinking..."Why the hey did he decide to pick on me?" Finally a security guard came and escorted him out and I breathed a sigh of relief. Later when I told my sister about it she said, "Uh Ohhhhh...the other day when I was driving, he jumped out in front of me and started with his gestures. I flipped him off and stepped on it to make him move out of the way." I look a lot like my sister, so we figure he had me mistaken for my sister and was ticked off at me for flipping him off. We laughed our butts off over that...and my sister was driving her husbands car at the time, or she'd have never flipped him off in her own car. hahahaha She didn't want to be recognized...LOL...she figured her hubby might encounter the weirdo when he recognized his car, but never dreamed he'd come after me! |
I agree with most of you guy's pet peeves and have some of my own: I cant stand people who drive slow or stupid people on the road in general(which is most people :D ). I also cant stand slow computers/internet or bad cell phone signal or gas prices or Taxes(we pay too much and I think Govt needs to keep more of our money within the country instead of giving it all away to other countries) :) I also cant stand it when people dont watch thier children in public places and they run around screaming and I hate waiting anywhere, wether it be at Dr office, traffic or in line somewhere and I really cant stand people who do not read the rules on something and get all bent out of shape over something when it was written right there for them to see! I also cant stand teenagers at the movie theater! Come on some of us WANT to watch the movie! when I waited tables I HAD TONS OF PET PEEVES! I was only 21 at the time (3 years ago) but I hated waiting on teenagers because they demanded everything, wanted it for free, stayed at my table forever(keeping me from gettign other payign customers), ususally were load and obnoxious which would tick off my other tables and they would NEVER leave a tip! I could keep going on and on but I willl try to be good and have no more gripes! I feel better though :p ! |
Oh wait- I also cant stand phone soliciters, credit card companies, and those annoying people at the mall or fair who are doing "surveys". I guess I basically dont like people who waste my time. Time is very precious! I know its thier job to bug me but it doesnt change the fact I cant stand it! |
I cant stand people who dont understand , for me, I loved my animal just like it's my child. I cant stand when people ask me "what are you mixed with..you cant be all black " thats just rude !!! I hate when I find the EXACT bag or purse that I have been searching for when I have No money left . Cant stand when someone lies .. my ex lied when the evidence is right smack in my face ..that your LYING!!!! Cant stand people who chew with their mouth wide open..grossssssssssssss Cant stand that I have to put gas in my truck to make it move.. Cant stand when my friends remind me that I am a clean/control freak by leaving my coffee table magezines out of order. Cant stand excercising and seeing no results..except that everything is sore.. I think thats enough..but I have plenty more..lol :D that was like free therapy! ;) |

just my opinion, but i dont thing people should be generalizing teenagers, making them all sound bad. its not really fair |
Great thread! I hate when someone reads the computer over my shoulder...I get so little computer time around here with two kids as it is, they have to STALK me? I hate when my sisters make fun of me about being a "dog person" can't a person change? (Especially when they have the sweetest little boy in the world?) I hate, hate, hate call waiting I hate only having one bathroom in our house There are plenty more I'm sure but I can't think of them. I hate that! |

I can't stand: People who drive SLOW. It makes me nuts! People who chew gum like a cow - it really really pisses me off! People who allow their kids to scream and run all over a restaurant and/or mall. People, control your children! People who loudly slurp soup. People who look over my shoulder while I'm on the computer at work. This drives me crazy! GGGRRRRR! |
