need some movie help PLEASE!!!! Ok so i have been teaching an egyptian unit in art. Thursday is my last day and i'm hoping to show a movie. They are grade 9's. Anyone know a good Egyptian themed movie? |
Well the only egyptain movie i know is The Mummy but i think i may have heard of a movie called King Tut |
The Mummy is a 1999 American adventure film written and directed by Stephen Sommers, starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, with Arnold Vosloo in the title role as the reanimated mummy. The movie features substantial dialogue in ancient Egyptian language, spoken with the assistance of a professional Egyptologist. It is a loose remake of The Mummy (1932), which starred Boris Karloff in the title role. Originally intended to be part of a low-budget horror franchise, the movie was eventually turned into a blockbuster adventure film. ????????? i think i may have seen parts of it.. maybe someone here can tell you if it is appropriate for 9th graders!! |
Cleopatra, it's too long, but as far as showing the art of the period, it does a great job. |
The first thing that came to mind was Roger's & Hammerstein's The King & I...but then I realized that was about Siam. Sorry! The Mummy is the only movie I can think of as well! |
the 10 commandments with charlton heston comes to mind... lol... i think the mummy is pg 13 if im not mistaken... so you should be ok |
A movie idea..... How serious a movie does it have to be? Have you ever seen Mannequin? It starts out with an Egyptian theme! I think 9th graders would love it but it would just be for fun. It might be a good way to end the class. |
