I'm hoping for a win as well!! He has my vote April 22nd! This is my first time voting too (I wasn't old enough to vote last election - missed it by a year) and I couldn't be happier than to vote for him! :D

However sadly, there are no candidates currently that I could vote for with a clean conscience. Which upsets me because I too missed the previous election by 1 year! I'm still praying that Huckabee will run as an Independent. A girl can only hope:rolleyes:
But thats all I'm going to say about politics.

P.S. It would be neat to meet a politician :)

I don't think the purpose of this thread is to see whose scared or who doesn't like the man or anything about his political belieefs. It is about a member who was as excited as some of you are over meeting a movie star or singer. can't we just share in her joy?

In this statement......I see nothing rude in any of the statements thus far.......she met him, good for her.....period.

I am as passionate about knowledge as anyone....and all have the right to comment on here.....tactfully...

And yes, I too agree with the post about being scared.......period.

I will never get the way some members here define "rude" :confused: A difference of opinion or feelings about something/someone is not rude....no one said anything rude to the OP or told her she shouldn't like Obama or shouldn't be excited about meeting him. In fact someone I consider a good friend on this thread likes Obama...does that mean I'm going to be rude to her or dislike her?? No way.. everyone is entitled to their own opinions and political views. Anytime something controversial, political, or religious is brought up you are going to get people that post differences of opinion.

I find many of the posts on this thread rude, starting with julieg's, who basically calls everyone who prefers this candidate a mindless idiot.

The OP wrote a thread saying what a thrill it was to meet him. He's considered the most charismatic speaker of our day. I would pay money to hear someone with his reputation speak in person. The OP got to meet him, talk to him, pose with him. I have no doubt the OP will be showing those pictures to her grandchildren with pride.

I'm excited for her. And it has nothing to do with my political beliefs.

I have yet to see a thread that mentions politics on YorkieTalk turn out to be anything but what this has turned into. Name-calling. Maybe we ought to stick to talking about Yorkies.

I will leave it at this you don't really desereve a response. You need to reread my post! I said the media leads "US" including myself in any direction they see fit and not about any one subject about all subjects. I did not mention anything in general yet it was an open ended statement! I think EVERYONE needs to educate themselves about a lot of things, not just trust the words of another. If you took it to mean you were an idiot well sorry! you read whatever you wanted into my post.

To the OP: I am sorry if my reply offended you in anyway! It is a very exciting experience to meet famous men & women :) and I am glad for you!

To AlaskaYorkie: I do not see where this thread has turned into "name calling". People are allowed to speak their minds here.

To Sugar'sMom: Yes it is very exciting to meet someone famous, but when that person is running for office, it is a little more important to some people than meeting a "celebrity". The next President will decide my husband's future for the next few years and will also be making decisions that will affect the lives of my children and their children. So yes, we should share in her joy, but the topic of meeting a presidential hopeful cannot be compared to that of meeting a mere celebrity.

I did and did not find things rude... Just more of the fact that I was one of the few that got to get pictures and speak to him because he didn't make an announcement that he was coming.. It was a surprise and not any new he was even here til the next day.. Now if it was Hillary and Bill, I'd be more than excited to get my pictures with them.. Just the first time I got to see someone of "importance" and wanted to share... :) No hard feelings... lol

I really appreciate the way you put this... I wasn't looking for political views and wasn't intentionally giving mine (although my excitement did say that).. Just wanted to share...

How exciting! I met Bill, I've met Hillary (at her book signing). Both were very nice. Would love to meet Obama as well and any other person that has or may have an affect on the country I live in...whether I like them or not or whatever my "political" beliefs are....that would be an exciting moment!!!! Glad you were able to get pictures of it. I have some.......somewhere..:rolleyes:
