Womenly question Has anyone here missed 2 periods and not be pregnant or sick? |
yeah... i was really stressed out for a couple months and that stopped my period for a while. |
Yep missed five of them. Turned out I have some thyroid problems and my whole system is off so it caused it. I couldn't be pregnant because my tubes are tied. Any other symptoms? |
I missed like 8 before and then had one for about 3.5 months straight. It was awful! Are you very active? Do you eat too little? That was the reason for my problems in the past (at least thats what we think). |

3.5 months?!!! that IS awful! |
I have missed 5 months in a row....and another time missed 4 months... some times according to my doctor, it can be a few things why... your body thinks you are preggers (false pregnancy), sometimes it due to stress...and sometimes they just don't know... The first time I missed for 5 months, the doctors even thought I was preggers, the cervix was blue ( a sign of pregnancy) and told us congrats you are a little over 4 months...went for unltra sound...nothing...all tests came back negative health wise, all the doctor said was it happens.... |
wow I have heard that stress can play a big role in late or missed periods but never happened to me. I have missed my period a total of three times in my life and their ages are 12, 6 and 7 :D |
I missed mine for 4 months and before that for two months. Finally got it in the beginning of Feb but nothing since! I am currently being screened for early menopause - I was 8 when I got my period so that is what they are thinking! |
I have but I am peri menopausal...How old are you? |

i've only ever missed one... it was stressed induced.... |
Yup, perimenopause. |
Yes i have missed before, it would come every 3 months or so, but that was in hs and i think i was undernourished. i used to eat only once a day or none at all cause i was so busy and on the go. But now i get it regularly |
It's more common than you think to be late or miss one or two altogether in a year. If they are back to back-you should check with your doctor, but for one missed period I wouldn't worry too much (as long as you know you're not pregnant or ill). It could be a hormonal issue-like thyroid, or just stress if you've missed two in a row, so I wouldn't worry, but you should give you doctor a call. They may give you something to jump start your period and get you back on track. Charting your periods on a calendar or in a notebook might help you understand your body's unique patterns, so you may want to start that now even though you've missed. The first day of your period is cycle day one-just start and go from there. It seems like a pain to do-but after keeping track for 2 weeks, it's second nature. After a couple of months, you'll be able to tell a lot of things about yourself, and you'll become more in-tune with your body. I hope all is well with you :) Take care! |
try almost 10 .. yup... but i have always been irregular.. dr says all that will help is birth control but I wont take that so.... |

It really is a great site, helps by letting you know your ovulation date etc |
Great site-thanks for posting that. I think we could all take advantage of that-whether it's for preventing or planning pregnancy, knowing our bodies' natural patterns, or just having a record for when we go to the doctor. |
I dont feel so worried now. I may have hypothyroidism but my thyroid # are all over the place, and theyve ruled out pregger and a pitatuary gland tumor. Ive got some other odd syptoms but the DR. I have been seeing is a quack. Next week I start seeing a Endrocronigist to rule out what he knows then off to the Gyno to rule out more with them. I just want answers. If I get some Ill let everyone know. |
I havent had a period on my own since the first part of may... I had two periods since then and it was because my dr. gave me some pills to start it... well it was suppose to make me regular but nope... never did.,.. my dr said it could be because of 3 dif. things.... 1 it could be cancer, 2 my brain was telling my body not to ovulate. and i forgot the third...  but i know its not cancer for me! the test came back normal!:) |
