The idea of it, is to turn off your electricity for one hour tonight (from 8-9 PM for your timezone), to raise awareness of climate change and energy conservation.

I was under the impression that its all of your electricity, but according to my mom its just lights.

We're doing it!! My dtr is flying back from her trip to Nashville and will be coming into Chicago and they are turning alot of the lights out downtown so it should be cool!

Earth Day injured me! I tripped over Hallie and went flying down the hallway. My elbow is bleeding :( Hallie is just fine though :)

oh no Kim!!!! you should have really just stayed put!! lol..w e didn't move... Layla did.. but we coudd never find her so thought it best to not move at all... i hope it's not too bad!!! i HATE rug burns especially on the elbow!! Glad to hear Hallie is ok :D

I went to google and they are black in observence of this!! I thought the page looked different. Now it makes sense!

We lit a ton of candles and all snuggled up on the couch, DH, me and the furbabies :)

I actually think we might have at least an earth half hour nightly because it was actually really nice :)

Ohhhhhhhhhh...that's why google was black. I didn't link the 2 together. I'm glad all of you participated. I wasn't home and didn't want to leave rosie in the dark:( Let me know when it is next year and I'll participate then. I let my parents know and they participated.
