Look what I won on eBay! http://www.ssb9.net/members/wrc/enla...1-110-49&enc=1 I'm so excited! I LOVE super old photos (like pre1930.. but the older the better!) and when whenever we move into our own place I want to decorate Laney and Slade's room with old photos of dogs with their humans. I only buy about one a month from eBay and only if I really, really like it. Anyone else collect old photos? |
that's a really neat picture! I don't collect old photos but I love looking at them. My family has a lot of really old photos in albums and it's so crazy to look at how much has changed. |
Haha! What a cute picture! My mom has an amazing collection of old photos because her grandmother's family had a camera before most families did, and we have a ton! I never thought about the fact that she could sell them. They are really cool family mementos to us! I like your idea though! |
What a wonderful find for you. Look at that little dog sitting on the chair. My eye traveled over the items in that store. I love looking threw old dishes etc. I also enjoy looking at old photographs. They each tell their own story. That's a nice hobbie to collect. |
That's a nice pic....I always wonder about the people in the old pictures and wonder about their lives.....I had an elderly neighbor that was a loner and when she passed and she willed all her things to a church, they came in and threw all her personal things in the trash.....I felt so bad about it that I removed all her old photos..... she even had about 6 personal diaries in with her things....I've had these things in my attic for over 10 years now, I just don't feel right just tossing them in the trash....it was kind of sad...... |
I don't collect them but I do enjoy seeing old photos. This one is great! |

I found the coolest pic not too long ago at an antique store. It had a little white dog in it too. The architecture in the photo was AMAZING. It was a huge, interestingly built house. I will have to scan it sometime and post it here, maybe someone knows where the house is, or at least what part of the country. We definitely don't see houses like the one in the picture around here. The family must of been aristocracy of some sort. hmmm... I have an afternoon to kill, perhaps I should go hunt around the antique store again and see if they have anything new! :D Our family has a few old professional pics from the early 1910s. But it was the 1930s before anyone got a camera, but my uncle was a photography nut so we do have a bunch of great ones from the 1940s and 1950s when my mom was a little girl that her brother took of the family. jp4m2,thats sad, but I'm glad you removed her diaries and photos. I can't bare to through out any old letters or photos, even if I don't know the people. We have several old photos that we aquirred when my grandma passed. Mom doesn't know who many of the people are (friends of my g-ma that sent pics of their kids and such), but we just can't throw them away. |
I meant to add a cool site onto my last post- www.russianphoto.com I love looking at old photos on there! |
It is sad ....I should try and track down some relative and see if they want them....I read some of the diaries ( ) they were fun to read....She calls her car a "machine" and she tells how much gas she put in....going downtown and going to the movies and what movie she saw....going to a relatives home for dinner.... it was sad reading about her dealing with her ill dad and him dying..... |
