I feel dumb now! So I will be flying to Boise next week. The only other time I've ever flown was back when I was 8. Well I've always heard about how cramped people were when they flew and how awful coach was. Well, I didn't think it was that bad...from the memories I had. The seats were nice and big and comfy, and I got coke and a snack- of course 8 and alot smaller then and so maybe I was remembering it better than what it was. I ask my mom about it- she told me I flew first class! Then I looked up a picture of coach seats online  Thats gonna be a long 16 hrs! |
It is pretty cramped in Coach. Can you request an aisle seat, I always feel better when sitting next to the aisle. Also, do you live in Georgia? If so, a flight from Georgia to Idaho won't be 16 hours. Of course, if you live somewhere other than Georgia, then you could well be on the plane for 16 hours. Yes, that would be a VERY long and cramped trip. |
lol you're not dumb, you were only 8!:D I would try for either a window seat or an aisle seat. Those middle seats do get kinda cramped:rolleyes: |

I picked window seats, my first two flights aren't crowded so hopefully they'll be no one beside me. The last (and longest) flight only has 6 seats left on it and 5 of those are in First class. I didn't get to pick my seat on that flight, so with my luck it wll probably be a middle one |
Well, that is a long day flying, but you do have layovers so you can stretch your legs and wash your face if you need to freshen up while you're waiting. I usually carry a book with me to read during those boring times. You can always ask for a pillow too and take a little nap. It won't be so bad. Just think of it as an adventure!;) |
I went to Goodwill yesterday and got a bunch of new books, so I will be taking some of those! and a puzzle book and cds. I will probably be too nervous to sleep! :D I don't know what i'm going to do about food. I get into ATL at 9:30, and take off is at 12. so i'm supposed to be at my gate earlier than that. I get in NYC at 3:30 and take off at 6:00. So I guess I'll either be eating an early lunch and dinner and having lunch in ATL and dinner in NYC, OR wait and eat a late lunch in NYC and eat dinner when I get to Boise (which will be 2am here..so maybe not a good idea). I have snacks to take on board, but I know if I don't eat a normal meal I'll get sick. |
You should be fine - tired but fine - with all the layovers where you can get up and walk around. I always take food along on the plane. My hubby is diabetic and often has to have something to eat. I usually don't get hungry when I fly, but I try to eat something and be sure to drink something so that you don't get dehydrated. Unfortunately, I can't drink too much because I will have to go to the bathroom. That's OK if I am sitting on the aisle, but not good in the middle or window! Good luck, as someone said, it will be an adventure! |
Too bad your having a layover closer to me, I could take you to lunch or dinner. Just remember what a nice time your going to have when you get there:) |
