I'm so sorry. And yes, having a grandpa is one of life's treasures! May your entire family find peace and healing and may your loved one rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Carol, I'm so sorry. My first 2 grandchildren will never know their Grandpa, he passed away before they were born. A Grandpa is truely a special person. Your family will be in my prayers.

I know what you mean. My oldest daughter's children never met their grandfather,
my husband but know everything there is about him. They wrote, over the
years many facts about him in their school work. My grandsons present
an atheltic award to a football and cheerleader every year at graduation.
The local football field is named after him as well so they know their
grandfather very well.

This was my SIL's father who was one of the biggest Yankee fans in NY.
He has a room in his house dedecated to them. It's truly amazing.
Ironic as it may be, he will be buried on opening day. I am sure he
picked that day for himself. If there had to be a more appropriate day there
couldn't be. I am sure my SIL will keep the memory of his father alive
for my two granddaughers. One is 7 so she will remember the other
is only 17mos. I never knew my grandfather's and I always felt I missed
out. I just feel bad that they will also.

That is truly amazing and proves that there is as much magic in losing people as there is in living with people. That is so wonderful. I'm so glad that he will ALWAYS be a huge part of your family. And he will be having a great time in his "Field of Dreams". What a great job you've done for your own grandkids as well! Hugs to you!
