What a bad start to.... Spring break. Friday morning at about 2 am my house caught fire. Thank the good lord that my sister was visting and woke up. We got all 9 kids out of the house and as my husband tried to put the fire out, we went back in and saved all of the animals. The fire department showed up and stood around while my husband still battled the fire. When the fire fighters decided to do anything they just destroyed alot. Now waiting on the insurance people to decide what to do. They were suppose to be here yesterday no one showed. Now the one guy is out until Thursday. Thank God that everyone got out. |
so sorry this happened to you, but i am glad to hear everyone is ok... ;) prayers that everything gets fixed quickly... |
Oh wow! That stinks! Do you know how the fire started? Im glad everyone got out safe & sound though! Thats the most important thing! |
I am so sorry about the fire!! you are very lucky to get everyone out unharmed!! |
How scary. Thank God you all got out safely. Hope the Insurance gets settled quickly. We have an animal fire plan at my house so that everyone knows who takes which ones out with them. Hopefully we never have to use it. |
I am so sorry. I hope your insurance fix you up quickly. It's the things that can't be replaced that is so heartbreaking. Angie |
Thankfully everyone was saved and everything else can be replaced, but I can only imagine how heartsick you must be... Quote:

I am sorry that happened to it. It is my biggest fear. I used to leave the doggie door open for my previous dogs, so they could get out if there was a fire. Now I'm so scared someone will take the yorkies, I lock them inside. Can't win, can we? I'm glad you all got out in time. Sheilagh |
Oh my gosh. Bless your heart. I am so glad that everyone is ok. I will keep your family in my prayers. |
I am so sorry to hear this Thank God everyone is o.k. You and your family will be in my prayers. |
so sorry for your loss Quote:
Bust up water pipes so then you have water damage along with the acrid smoke and fire damage.. This happened to my parents 15 years ago I hope you have a place to go. And thank heavens you did get everyone out. (Kids and doggies included) |
That is just horrible. And I'm sorry that the firefighters (while they have all my respect) didn't really minimize any damage that you're left with. But I'm so thankful that you all got out safely. You had so many in that house; all that much more to be thankful for. :) |
I'm so sorry for all that you are going through. I pray that everything gets resolved quickly for you. Remember, everything you lost are just "things"..you can replace them. BTW..where in Kansas are you from? |
The fire started in an outside fireplace. We are still staying at the house. We lost 3 rooms. Est. damage 50-60,000 dollars. When I was 3 our house burned down we lost everything. So far about the only thing we lost is the master bedroom set and couple of pairs of shoes the rest just needs cleaned. My daughters clarinet case got broke and she lost a couple of school papers. The reason no one took animals out with them is because I crate my pups. The room that was on fire was were everyone of my animals and my sisters animals were and I would not allow anyone to enter that room. The older kids job witch they did is to make sure the babies and littler kids are out. Thankyou to everyone for their payers and good thoughts. |
I am glad you are still able to stay in your house. At my house it is just my husband and adult daughter so we do not have to worry about getting kids out. I can't imagine how sacry it was to have to get children out and accounted for. Thankfully everyone got out safely. |
