EEEEEEEEK, there's a mouse in the house Okay, here is the scenario: The Brady Bunch have been oh so agitated today and acting very edgy. I couldn't get them to sit still for even a moment. I decided to put the gate up at the stairs and give them the run of the downstairs while I worked upstairs. Well, for about 15 minutes it was as quiet as a ....(yep, you guessed it ) mouse and that was because they were busy hunting. I began to investigate what the heck they were looking at when they turned to watch me and let their guard down for just a second. Out runs a mouse right between my feet and over my foot and I start yelling like a freaked out little girl ..... EEEEEEEEEk. They again block the mouse and I run to the door to open it to the outside. Thank goodness it ( the mouse ) had the sense to run right out the front door. Phewwwwwwww, Crisis averted. So now everything has quieted down and my heart has stopped racing and a couple of hours go by. I let them outside to do their duty in the back yard and then let them all back in again. Now all of them are acting odd and I take a look at MY COUCH where they all are and there is another Friggin Mouse ! EEEEEEEEEK Here we go again........... |
I hate mices to pieces. Set traps, lots of them, and try to seal off their entrance into the house. And pray for spring so they stay outside. |
Well its nice to know that as much of a pampered life they live now the ancestral instinct is still there:thumbup: |
LOL...Your story got me to laughing and all the time whilst reading it I was thinking, "usually if there's one mouse, there's more" so I wasn't surprised to get to the end and see you've already found another! I hope you don't have a bunch of little babie meecies too! Yikes! I would have freaked if a mouse had run over my foot. Once, I went downstairs to take the clothes out of the dryer and they'd been there a while, so put it on fluff mode. 20 minutes later I went down to get the clothes. I opened the dryer door and there sat a mouse. I had a delayed reaction...reached in and grabbed a piece of clothes and then thought...."A MOUSE!!!!" I slammed the door shut so fast that a shirt was half in and half out of the dryer. My hubby put a glove on and reached in to get the little critter, who didn't even attempt to get away from him. I guess it's cuz he'd been on fluff mode for 20 minutes and he was quite loopy! haha Good luck catching that mouse! |

Now that I think about it we really have seen quite a few of them in the basement since Rebel the cat passed away last year. dh says that when he went downstairs to clean up after the big flood of 08, LOL, he found a few that had drowned and were floating in the water. |

I'm scared to death of the critters! I have to share: When I was 2 weeks from having my first child we had to have the sewer line from the house to the street repaired. Roto Rooter didn't finish before dark, so the guy put a piece of roofing tile over the hole he left in the line. That night, I went to the bathroom. I dropped my drawers over my HUGE belly and started easing my bulk down to the toilet seat. I happened to look down---and there was a wharf rat in the toilet just waiting for me to sit down. I jumped straight up in the air screaming like a banshee and ran like crazy My ex grabbed the mop and bopped him back down the toilet while flushing it. For the rest of my pregnancy I did NOT use the toilet. I used a potty like a big baby! I didn't even want to use that bathroom to shower in:eek: |
I think mice in cages are cute (like pet mice), but mice running around my house, not so much! Thank goodness for the snakes and hawks around her that keep the mouse population down! |
