Judy, it turned out beautiful! I love it! Why would you use flannel instead of batting? Is it too heavy for our warm weather or did it turn out too bulky?? Just wondering. I am thinking about one and trying to decide what fabrics, etc. I want. Have you seen the denim ones? They don't put any batting at all in them. |

I have seen the denim ones, and I'm going to try that. I don't think you need batting for those either. I bought a walking foot today for my machine. I can't wait to try it. :) The lady at Joann's was very helpful and made sure I got one that would fit my machine. All of the Fisker products including cutters, replacement blades, mats and rulers were on sale (at our store at least). Nancy, I used those scissors we were talking about again and it was much easier this time. I think I just wasn't used to using them that first time. |
I think the idea with double flannel is a great idea. Placing the batting in right is probably the hardest part. I am glad to hear about the scissors! I have my eye on a walking foot on ebay, but they are SO expensive for Husqvarna Viking Machines!!! Some are over $100.00! It would sure make doing my potty pads easier to have one, so one way or another I hope to have one before long. Quote:

Joann's had several and they have a 40% coupon offer right now. Do they have the one you need? |

You are so lucky!! Mine is an older Viking, probably one of the first bottom of the line computerized models (that they don't even make anymore). The foot is more than half what I paid for my machine (used on ebay)! Viking stuff is SO expensive. I think my next one will be a Singer Futura... if I ever get a next one. Thanks for the offer of the coupon. The only walking foot they had on Joann's site was for a Singer machine. :( |

I found a lot of patriotic fabrics on sale for $1 to $2 a yard at Walmart today, so I have decided to do an Americana type quilt. I'm off to wash my fabric. I am SO happy that next week is spring break for me. :D See ya later. :) |

It was actually very easy once I knew what I was doing. Anyone who has a sewing machine can do it. Even if you don't have a machine you could do it, but it would take much longer. I think it took me about 5 hours total. Here's one link http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltpa.../rag_quilt.htm |
