:( I'm sorry you're going through this. It's just going to take time to adjust. My family moved 25 times when I was growing up and each time, the adjustment was difficult. It will get better. Just hang in there!! |

I'm so sorry you feel so lonely. I feel the same way. We were originally from PA and moved to SC in '99. My dh passed away so I felt we would be better off coming back to PA where the rest of my family and friends were. WRONG. You can never go home is true because home never stays the same. Every one has moved on and we are not in the circle any more. Friends just say "Hi, how are you, sorry about what happened, see ya around". So, as soon as we can save up enough, we are headed back south. YT is my family now. Any time you feel like talking, PM me. I'd love to swap stories:) . Oh, and welcome! You will love it here. |
I Know how you feel- kind of going through the same thing my self! I'll Pm you!!! Welcome to YT!!!! |
Thankyou all. My name is Stephanie. I am a stay at home mommy. Actually I spend more time out running kids around. LOL. I have 6 girls oldest 13 youngest 10 months. I have horses, chickens and I raise lionhead bunnies. I also have cats and several pups. Thankyou all for your kind words. I kind of was feeling sorry for myself and having my own pitty party. |
You raise LIONHEADS!!!! They are the coolest looking bunnies EVER! I think someone else on here raises them... I forget who... Does anyone else remember??? |
Stephanie, Just wanted to send a hug your way! I completely understand how you feel. As soon as my hubby and I were married, we moved 3,000 miles away from anyone or anything I'd ever known. We've made some friends at our church, but its still very hard for me to not get down about being so far from everyone. I've never not been around people all the time and now I really only see my hubby and Xavier everyday... Its definitely very hard. Luckily, I came back home for a while because I couldn't stand being ALONE when my hubby left for Korea. Anyway...where in Kansas are you? I lived in Kansas City for a while and loved it! Have you ever heard of IHOP? Its a House of Prayer in KC...great place to meet with God and people! Hope you feel better soon. Knowing that Jesus is always with me is what gets me through somedays... ~Hugs~ ELisha |
Hi Stephanie, Wow six daughters, you are so blessed girl, can't imagine how busy your life must be, and yes you certainly need a friend to lean on from time to time! I think that it is normal to have these feelings as I too left my small hometown in Illinois 16 years ago and moved to Oklahoma. This is home to my DH and after all these years I really can't say that I feel at home here and when I do go back to my hometown in Illinois, I really don't feel comfortable there either. I have always worked full-time and have been at the same company for 14 years now and consider my co-workers my family. I still get the negative vibes and rude comments from some now and then about the yankee thing but have pretty much gotten used to it and just try to consider the source. Your post brought tears to my eyes, know that people really do care and most that are on here are looking for the same friendships you are! (((((((((HUGS))))))))) |
Welcome Hi Stephanie, Welcome to YT. I am new here too, and I think you will find many nice people here. I have learned so much already too. The people are all so knowledgable. I too am a mostly stay at home mom, with only one child though!! Your kids must keep you really busy!! I truly admire & respect parents with bigger families!! I think that is wonderful. Well, welcome again and feel free to pm anytime!!! |
Wow Stephanie you must be one busy hard working woman. I think we are all entitled to Pity parties once in a while, right ladies? Welcome to Yorkietalk. |
