Crochet/Knitting?? Does anyone crochet or knit regularly?? I am really interested in learning, and I've tried to teach myself, but I never get it down. I think I have problems with diagrams because I am left handed. Can anyone recommend a good way to learn?? I know having someone show me is a good way, but I don't know anyone who does it. If anyone in the Orlando area knows how to, lemme know! ;) |
I knit and crochet regularly, and how i learned to knit and crochet was by computer programs, you can go to walmart and in their crafts dept, they have the cd, you can go as fast or slow as you want and go over places you are struggling on, its a real person showing you how, and it just shows her hands for u to learn with. I hope this helps you out!! |
Mascot I crochet.... with my grandma, but without her I have the hardest time reading the directions on how to books.... it is like its own language... I think I will look for those videos at walmart, I never knew they had those. :D Dot |

Yea I crochet, my husband is always calling me grandma as I make my layett sets for the pregnant girls at work. Wal Mart has a book (or used to) "I taught myself to crochet in 1 day". This how I learned(my grandma gave up on me and taught me to knit instead) This book also has instructions for lefties. pm me and I have some other links for you. |
I've always wanted to do both but I too am a LEFTY~ and well I am horrible at written directions I am one of those visual learners.... |
For those of you that do KNIT & CROCHET... what would you say are the must have supplies for a beginner.. I.E Needles, yarn etc... |
I crochet.....learned years ago from an Aunt. I would love to learn to knit. Here is a great link to some patterns.... http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.php |
My left-handed g-mother taught me (right-handed) to crochet almost 50 years ago. I'd sit in front of (facing) her and actually go backwards to what she was doing. I've spent thousands of dollars in yarn and thread, making everything from bedspreads to dog sweaters. For about 10 years, I've tried to make at least one small blanket each month and my daughter takes them to Texas Childrens Hospital at Christmas time, because a g-son was in a coma there once. |
